my name is Theo, i live in Indonesia. - some of you may remember that during covid some local friends of mine tried to build a midi controller, a project that came to a stop because of the difficulty to acquire electronic parts from china at the time.
Since 3 years they are building overdrive fx units, and they are trying to access the western market. the marketing budget is small, but they could send 1 or 2 free overdrive units to musicians in the west.
i have no idea about guitar FX and am honestly a bit helpless.
i prepared a short text for musicians fori:
---
FREE: 1 UNIT OVERDRIVE FX FROM INDONESIA!!!
I am an European expat living in Indonesia and am helping my Indonesian friends expand their business.
They are building Overdrive FX for guitarists. Their brand is called 'Sacredstaraudio', and they are based in Yogyakarta/Indonesia. 'Sacredstaraudio' have a good reputation locally but the market in Indonesia and the surrounding countries is small. They would like to extend their reach and sell internationally but lack contacts with musicians outside of Asia.
They produce around 130 handmade units per year, but have the scope to increase this to 250 - 300 per year. The price depends on the model: 199 - 219 US $, shipping included. Import taxes and custom fees in the customers country are the customers responsability.
They would love to send a free 'Sacredstaraudio' FX to an experienced guitarist in a Western country in return for constructive feedback about the sound and the quality of their product. And they wouldn't mind about him/her promoting that FX.
If you are interested please DM me.
Thank you

my questions:
is this even a good idea? if yes, in what fori? (i am only a member here and in VIC)
any clever idea how to make it better?
thank you, theo

Hi Theo,
Interesting article: https://www.guitarworld.com/features/be ... ive-pedals
Just a thought:
Personally I would not offer this via an Internet Forum at all, for many reasons.
How about contacting Sound On Sound, asking whether they would have a slot to review the pedal. Be as clear and concise in your pitch as possible.
I would chose Matt Houghton from the List to write to.

As most guitar players like to get their hands dirty when trying out a pedal you could also consider maybe joining something like the Guitar Summit in Mannheim. I went there a few times and it's jam packed with guitar players looking for cool new toys, but you will also find all big youtube and magazine guys there. Could be worth to contact as well the big guitar magazines (Guitarist for example - https://www.guitarworld.com/guitarist)

I am a middling guitarist but good enough to demo a product, and I’d be happy to beta test it and share my findings or a demo if they have any interest. I imagine Craig might as well @scoredog
