the composer of the opera I'm working on asks me to record myself reading the many spoken captions in the libretto, and I'm willing to do that, if I only could change my voice so it's not recognizable. Preferably a female voice. Is there anything like that? Vst of course and working in realtime.
thanks for any input
Roberto

Re: spoken voice changer?
Dreamtonic's Vocoflex perhaps?
Not sure how well it performs when used in realtime though.
I bought Vocoflex sometime last year when it was available at a reduced price. Hadn't any immediate plans to use it, and I haven't used it yet (*), but I think it's worth mentioning, should you consider buying it, that you have to jump through quite a few hoops before you're permitted to purchase the software. What it comes down to is that you have to go through an ID Verification process, so that Dreamtonics knows who you are and can act when ethically wrong use of the software can somehow be linked to your ID. It's not a simple purchase, buying Vocoflex.
(*) I don't work much with vocals. I am in fact more curious to see if it's possible to modify, say, the timbres of virtual woodwind instruments with Vocoflex. Change an oboe I don't like into one I like better (with the aid of good reference recording of a real oboe). Or give a (sampled) upright bass a unique tone that's exclusively mine. Things like that.

Re: spoken voice changer?
thank you Piet, this one at first sight seems overkill for what I have to do, just reading text... I'd buy it exactly for the same reason you say, "modeling" an instrument's timbre from a good, maybe live reference.
