I use this routinely in my Post template. Sometimes light and simple is exactly what I want, especially when I'm using my own IRs (I've captured an impulse response of the TV studio's PA where I do most studio work these days) - there's just no point in using something with 50x the CPU.

Guy, that impulse pack is pretty huge-4.8 GB! I was surprised.

In your opinion, how does the Wave verb compare with the native Cubase convolution verb?

I've never used the Cubase one, Larry so no idea!

I don't get too excited about the differences between different convolutions, Gimmie a reverb time adjust and maybe basic tone shaping for convenience, that'll do. For me it's all about the IRs. In post when I'm looking for something to match pictures, I always use Altiverb, because a) they have a very big library and moreover b) they have PICTURES in the browser. I can't begin tell you what a big deal that is when you're in a hurry. But for musical use, that's just a nicety.

With that 5gb pack, IR-L is a really solid workhorse. It's not the ultimate for scoring use probably but (except for poor IFM) it just quietly behaves itself and does its thing.

You know Laura, when you next have a few days and you're really bored, you should put together an ultimate guide to great free stuff. It's staggering what's out there for nothing.

I have a spreadsheet of all my plugins and VIs and whether or not they're free or paid, and there are plenty of lists already out there. I'm a little more useful if someone asks about a free version of a particular processor or instrument. Plus, my knowledge is sort of limited to AAX versions, which is kind of a blessing since there is SO MUCH ELSE out there for AU/VST/VST3. I wouldn't be able to keep up!
