Orchestral Tools / Organic Samples

Post by Piet De Ridder »

"Organic Samples is renowned for their colorful instruments. An inspiring resource of fluid legato solo voices, samples influenced by ethnic music and smart lightweight instruments. Orchestral Tools is delighted to report that Organic Samples is now available exclusively at Orchestral Tools. Organic Samples is a series of creative instruments, that will be continued with many upcoming additions."

To check how organic organic is these days, I bought the Bösendorfer Staccatos (€9) and the Majestic Horn (€2). While the former is not something I'd buy again (a very weak product at any price, if I may say so), the latter makes you feel embarrassed because you only paid €2 for what is a very decent and very useful horn that exhibits, apart from a rather nice, individual timbre, some very impressive legato capabilities. Easily worth 10 times what they're asking for it.

If my music had more room for vocals, I'd have bought the other two OS offerings as well, but since it hasn't, I haven't. Demos sounds pretty good though.

I bought the Soprano-which, though modest in scope, has nice tone and outstandingly smooth legato.

What's the deal here? Organic are (another) company I didn't really know about - they sold products for 2 euros?! And at least some of them are really good? And have OT bought them? Or are they distributing them? Is this part of a shopfront for their new player or something? How many more questions can I ask?

They seem to have signed an exclusive distribution contract, I‘d wish they had bought them, since they bring an astounding level of love for the small details. But lets see, perhaps this is just the first step.
