I think I am glad I did not pull the trigger on Keyscape.

Just compared Stuio, UVI, and Keyscape and posted to VI control but it was a no-go, so I thought I would post my thoughts on the three here. An informal quick test to be sure, but I think informational.

Here is the original post:

Maybe it's related to the content of what I'm posting. It's the content of an email with evidence I bought the original from VSTBuzz.

I didn't install it yet, but now want to upgrade.
I would install the UVI version if I were you. Just directly compared Studio, 4.0 UVI and Keyscape using a stripped down basic suitcase. The NSK 4.0 UVI version and Keyscape were comparable- keyscape being cleaner sounding and NSK 4.0 being more gritty and beefy, but both are great.

By comparison NSK Studio sounded almost mono, very centered and dull, with less dynamic response when played. There also seems to be a slight distortion in the samples (could be in the vst interface, but everything is off and the output levels are not hot, even a little lower than the other two) that gets more pronounced at higher velocities. I'm sure if it's an issue it will get addressed. Perhaps it's part of the charm and with all the extra layers and fx it works fine, just my own observations. I invite those with older versions to try the same, you might be surprised. Was really hoping this would wow me and replace my UVI version, but at this point I don't think so. Had issues getting my VSTbuzz purchase to show up in my account as well, but Jamal was great and helped me through the whole process. Make sure to read install instructions as well, since I didn't properly place the samples after the NKS studio install and spent an hour trying to figure out why the plugin and standalone made no sound. Cheers.

Now that I'm going through Studio, I think you're still going to want Keyscape. Feels like the difference between working a funky home studio, then spending a day at Ocean Way. Yeah, the home studio is comfortable and will work fine most of the time, but to have the choice of either (especially for that horn section record) is hard to pass up. :)
