Hello All!
While sipping my morning Tea, I stumbled upon a couple interesting websites I thought I might share with you all. Feel free to browse and share your thoughts.
http://money.futureofmusic.orgThis one is fun to spend some time with. It seems that most of the folks who responded are symphony players - and it seems from what I can tell, they are most of the teach as well as play. Not a lot of composers in this survey, but it is still interesting. And the layout and ways you can manipulate the data on the site is very nice.
Blockchain format. This one is very interesting to me. I need to read more about it. But I have often wondered why, with all the power we have sitting on our desktops, or in our phones for that matter, why we don't have a better format to track metadata. It seems odd that manual cue sheets are still the norm for TV production. Seems like this maybe an interesting global format. I just started reading about it, but I find this kind of thing fascinating, and it seems the sooner we can move in this direction, the better off we will all be.
dotblockchain The landing page for the above mentioned format. I took the survey, I would encourage every one here to take it too. Seems the more voices (regardless if you agree or not with the proposal) tallied the better.
All this came from my browsing this site. It's a US based Non Profit, but seems like a lot of good info, and seems like a worthy organization.
Cheers - would love to know what you think, especially about the .bc file format.

Not at all, quite the contrary. Sorry, I meant nothing by that and I edited it out.Udo wrote:Is this a sexist website?kpc wrote:Hello Chaps! ......

Here is an interesting video by the guy pushing the Blockchain idea. Very interesting. I like his quote "In the race to adopt new technologies, the music industry historically has finished just ahead of the Amish. - Stan Cornyn
Anyway, worth the watch I think.
