Anyone looking at a last minute 2025 purchase for tax deduction purposes?

Not for tax purposes per se but I bought an alto sax. Haven't played for 40+ years but eager to take it up again. Arrives on Friday.
Time is life, use it wisely.

Wow, that’s fantastic!! I hope you get much enjoyment from it.Thomas Mavian wrote: ↑Dec 31, 2025 1:27 pm Not for tax purposes per se but I bought an alto sax. Haven't played for 40+ years but eager to take it up again. Arrives on Friday.
I wish I played sax -it would spare people from the horrible noises I make trying to simulate one
Me, I’m considering the Barbarian Cello from Loot Audio-sounds very good to me in walkthroughs. I don’t think I need another cello (or anything really) but….(sigh.) Anybody have that one? Talk me out of it.

I'm sorry to hear this, Laura. I hope that the cancer will go into complete remission.

The nine-dollar Cuatro + Charango combo from Loot won't help me much with taxes, but sounds pretty good (well, I haven't actually tried them yet, but they'll surely be worth the price, anyway).

Thanks all. He is doing well so far. The doc is pleased. He had some ice cream today and is napping now.

Poor kitty, I'm glad he got a treat!
My last big order went in a couple days ago, a Jupiter XM, which I really look forward to exploring properly. I borrowed one from a friend for a few days and it's a wonderful synth, very rugged construction and brilliantly made. I'm looking forward to getting acquainted with it and working it into local gigs.

I probably should have gone there. I skipped the Barbarian cello, a little expensive for what my needs are.My name is Nobody wrote: ↑Jan 01, 2026 2:13 am Acoustic samples’s Vhorns & Vbrass….since I had the Vwinds earlier this year that play and sound so good I couldn’t resist.

My last minute impulse purchase was a iPad Pro for dealing with sheet music. 3 Choirs, tons of organ gigs, I'm drowning in paper I have to carry around.
Hopefully this will restore some of my sanity

I'm ashamed to say that I spent £££££££££££££££££ just to lower the tax bill for last year. I feel so dirty.

Lasts purchases were a pad for my daughter - she’ld like to play drums so let’s try a training pad, 1st.
And a Stylophone CPM-DS2, a drone machine that is a little box of endless fun !
A drone machine with 2 oscillators with continuous morphing between wave forms, 2 subs, 2 filters (HP-LP), an LFO with 14 waveforms and 2 taps, which means it alternates between 2 sets of waves. You can route it/them to modulate each osc and each filter.
At the end, you have a delay (noisy, oldy, fun, mono and LFO modulated is you so wish) and a stereo reverb with 8 very efficient algos.
I have much more fun with it than with my Polybrute12.
Sure, you have to enjoy droning as a requirement !
