Love it, love it, love it. For most things, it’s the most balanced, no “gotchas”, the tone is great, the interface is well thought out and everything is easily accessible.
My one quibble-that warm “golden tone”. I haven’t really found it here and find myself going back to my long time standard the Art Vista VGP2, where it’s found in abundance.
Anyone else feel that way about the Modern D?

Revisiting the VI Labs Modern D
Re: Revisiting the VI Labs Modern D
Yes… and I found I prefer the warmer tones of the Vintage D.

It's a great instrument. I was a bit worried when I read that they recorded it in a small studio. A concert grand is built for the big stage and fills concert halls with its sound. Why record it in a small studio? But the end result works. For a dry studio sound, the Modern D will be my go-to. For a more ambient instrument I will stick to my trusty Garritan CFX.
