Sounds Of The Earth / VIDA I

Post by Piet De Ridder »

New from Sounds Of The Earth (who put themselves on the map with The Amazonic AMA I): VIDA I, an exploration of the musical traditions and culture of Costa Rica.
As with the previous library, VIDA I is not just a sample library but part of a larger socio-cultural initiative to preserve the musical heritage of the region and support its musical community. Up to 20% of the proceeds are invested back in various Costa Rican aid and support projects.

The library comes in three versions: (1) a small, free one, giving you 8 instruments to get a taste of VIDA I, (2) a bigger one, the Producer Version (7 gig), containing all 80 instruments, and (3), the complete library (for some reason called the Kontakt Version) which also includes those 80 instruments but contains a much bigger sample pool (18 gig).

Demos and video on the product page.

Wonderfull find! And well recorded, even with just listening to it on my iphone’s speakers( which as we all know is part of a scrupulous method to listen to the quality of our mixes)

The demos unfortunately mostly focus on the percussion and other instruments/devices, and less on the stringed instruments…… hopefully there is a review of some kind by a yt-er……..

…….and found it, by the creator himself
