I realize he has been off the radar for a while, but still, what a loss, both musically and as a person. I like watching him in Snarky Puppy and Spectrasonics videos. And this one is amazing. (oddly my favorite part is his demo of the Roland MKS-20. Something about that sound, neither acoustic nor recognizable electric piano. The MK-80 includes some of that sound, but I much prefer the Keyscape version. Boggles the mind!)

It’s hard to lose talented musicians at any point, but especially when they’re younger. There’s going to be a benefit concert, featuring Erykah Badu, Norah Jones, Cory Henry, and other artists, in September. It was originally planned for Shaun, but now it’s for his family.

RIP, Shaun Martin.
