Softube / Model 82 (Roland SH-101)

Softube has released the Model 82, a faithful -- some say: too faithful -- recreation of the famous Roland SH-101, the unbelievably popular mono synth without which the late 80's and 90's would have sounded a little different. (I used to have one of those, complete with mountable handle and strap, which made you look very silly if you played it like that.)

So, very faithful. The only additions are a 'Drive' control and a Stereo Doubling option. But the Model 82 is also available as five separate modules for Modular which means that you can built your very own polyphonic or paraphonic SH-101 should you want. (See third video below.)

A nice touch from Softube is the product's webpage which got a very 90's-looking design. Ugly, but in a nice way.
