Loops de la Crème / Songbird Virtuoso

Post by Piet De Ridder »

Here's a fun one: Loops de la Créme's Songbird Virtuoso, a Kontakt library which gives you the (playable) sounds of three songbirds (a nightingale, a linnet and a redstart). The library contains 27 Kontakt patches, including some nature soundscapes, a few songbird-based percussive patches as well as phrase patches.

Regular price: €39, introduction price (until June 15th): €19.

Very cute! I had to do a score 15 years ago where a bird duets with a boy playing a flute - I can't remember what I used to pull it off now, but this would have been handy then. (The part I remember most is no-one ever warned me about it beforehand or said "can you pull this off".)

In the same week that Songbird Virtuoso is released, Acorn Digital have updated their Acoustica audio editor, adding several welcome features, but the only reason I post this bit of news here, is because the software now also includes a DeBird algorithm.
DeBird: "reduces bird noise effectively and automatically". Intended, of course, for cleaning up outdoor audio recordings.

😄😄 “The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away! “ I expect, that if one is interested in one of these items, they would not need the other. But who knows? 😊
