Arturia / Tape MELLO-FI / free gift (until Dec. 31st)

Post by Piet De Ridder »

Arturia ends the year with a nice free gift: the Tape MELLO-FI or "deluxe lo-fi bliss" as they also call it. Freely downloadable between Dec. 21st and Dec. 31st, if you have an Arturia-account.

There's more to Tape Mello-Fi than the tape-stop, Bill. Probably much which you can do already with other plugins, but still.
And it all sounds quite convincing.

Try it, I'd say, I'm pretty sure you'll want to keep it.

Here's a quick video, going over the options.

at least this time you are not tempting me to pull out my wallet<G>.

No, haven't pulled the trigger on AR2 Strings yet, listening to the demos right now, probably watch the videos again too...

Just tried this out (having bought a Casette plugin only last month!)

One thing I wasn't expecting is that the start / stop is a true representation of a tape effect recording a start / stop. In other words, the start is a pitch DOWN, not the usual ramp up. Quite good that, I don't think I have that effect easily to hand anywhere.

Any excuse to link an early Simple Minds track, but I've always loved the drop-into-record at the very start of Love Song, put through a single delay to make it extra glorious.

That fantastic pre-midi arp (OB-Xa I think) free-runs through the song, and ultimately goes totally out of time for a while.

I digress. Again.
