Still haven't made Musician's Friend work, and Sweetwater don't seem to be doing anything site-wide this year. The best deal for the Perpetual Ultimate Renewal I've seen UK-wise is at Thomann - they have it for £315, which is about £70 cheaper than anywhere else - pretty good. I'll likely get this, I doubt there will be a better offer this year (unless anyone knows different).Guy Rowland wrote: ↑Nov 25, 2021 7:51 amAnd now a request - Avid have a 50% discount for Pro Tools subs, but no offers for perpetual licenses (seems to be the way of it now). Often retailers do their own discounts however, and I see Musician's Friend should have 15% off. Unfortunately their website is non-functioning for me on multiple machines - whatever search terms I enter comes up with the same random product (today a Pro Tools Ultimate search results in a rather fetching acoustic guitar). Is anyone else getting this? Or anyone else know of big retailer discounts across the range?

Embertone - 40-60% off everything - intimate string bundle $150, which I think is very well liked?
https://www.embertone.com/
Best Service - up to 50% off almost everything - Orchestra Essentials excluded, but 50% off orders over $99.
https://www.bestservice.com/deals/best_ ... _3722.html
EDIT - in fact The Orchestra Essentials is half price anyway at Sonuscore, along with lots of other stuff of theirs and Keep Forest:

I can confirm that Musician's Friend has it for $399, like Sweetwater and everyone else, seemingly.Guy Rowland wrote: ↑Nov 25, 2021 11:13 amStill haven't made Musician's Friend work, and Sweetwater don't seem to be doing anything site-wide this year. Re: Black Friday 2021 (inc early deals)
Thanks Luke - it's still total nonsense here, so I can only conclude that they're rejecting / scrambling UK IP addresses. I can't even sign in. In theory, their 15% discount at the current exchange rate would make it £260 - that's about what I've got it for for the last couple of years IIRC. Ah well.Luciano Storti wrote: ↑Nov 25, 2021 3:16 pmI can confirm that Musician's Friend has it for $399, like Sweetwater and everyone else, seemingly.

Huh, that would be quite bizarre, scrambling UK IP addresses, but I don't see what else it could be either.Guy Rowland wrote: ↑Nov 25, 2021 3:20 pm

Re: Black Friday 2021 (inc early deals)
You can use the GROUP or FORUM codes and get it at JRRShop, you just have to be really careful about which product you select because the site/search is pretty terrible. This might be what you're looking for?Guy Rowland wrote: ↑Nov 25, 2021 11:13 amStill haven't made Musician's Friend work, and Sweetwater don't seem to be doing anything site-wide this year. JRR is the lowest I've found in the last year or so.
Edit: Thomann has it for $349: https://www.thomannmusic.com/avid_pro_t ... enewal.htm

Re: Black Friday 2021 (inc early deals)
Laura the deal-hound! You're right - GROUP didn't work at JRRshop but FORUM did, thanks - that's in line with Musician's Friend. Thomann is the best I'd already found, including VAT at £315, JRR Shop would be circa £280 probably after exchange rate fees. The only thing I then realised is that this isn't a Black Friday deal at all so I could get it any any time in theory, but given a) how Avid seem to be doing all they can to dissuade permanent license holders from continuing on that model and b) rules change, I'll likely get it over with now anyway.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

A few midi drum packs for Toontrack are up, and baby brother EZ Drummer 2 is 70 euros, which is a terrific price.

The always excellent Unfinished has 40% off almost everything. Nice to see Matt did synth programming both for No Time To Die and Dune, incidentally.

30% discount on all Dirac Live Products
From their Facebook stream:
I have been testing their plugin (vs hardware solutions from MiniDSP - in my case the surround version). It is really a revealing experience! I am not yet certain how to react to my feelings listening to the corrected output ... on the one hand, it sounds clearer and more focussed with the changes applied, but on the other hand it misses a lot of the "oomph" I am used to from my speakers and room. I will need to get used to that, but it is probably good, as I will put more "oomph" in my mixes that way!
I had long considered getting a hardware solution, but battled with the long latency it has which can not even be bypassed. The plugin can use it in your DAS on the monitoring channel with only slight latency added and the option to bypass it without any additional latency. Outside of Cubases it is also available as a virtual sound card, which can conveniently be shut on or off and different correction curves applied (e.g. for different listening modes or different volume).
30% discount is the best I have ever seen for Dirac and I think I am gonna get it. If you are interested, you will need a calibrated measuring mic and I recommend getting the miniDSP UMIK-1.
From their Facebook stream:
https://www.dirac.com/live/studio-audio-for-creatives/Use promo code HURRY30 to get the world’s best room correction solution. Hear your music, not your room! Dirac enhances speaker performance and delivers a larger sweet spot, accurate staging, clarity, and deeper, tighter bass. Customizable to your preference. Dirac Live is praised by audiophiles and music creators across the globe.
The discount is valid until the 29th of November. Hit the link and buy your license If not now, when?
