But, if I were to buy another compressor, how would this compare to U-he Presswerk? Just, you know, in case.
Be an upstander.

I am not sure the value of my comments because (a) I have no intention of purchasing yet another compressor plugin, and (b)
I do not own either plugin. I have tried the demo of Presswerk and was impressed. Not enough to part with money, but see (a) above.
I found Presswerk to be an extremely flexible dynamics processor that could masquerade, to one degree or another, as many different types of compressors. Just the ability to switch between feedback and feedforward control is remarkable. And true to u-He, it sounds good, really good.
X-Comp appears to be a similarly flexible compressor. I bet it does a GREAT imitation of the SSL buss compressor, and I have no idea what else it can do. Based on my experience with other SSL hardware and software I would expect it to be cool, and sound great. If I needed another compressor I'd take advantage of the $19 deal. And if it didn't work out I'd only be out $19.
That said, I have a tendency to only purchase software that I can play with first, and I see no place on the SSL site to download a demo (correct me if I missed it). I was able to use a trial version of Presswerk. And I like to encourage demo versions<G>.
Fortunately for me I really do not need yet another compressor. (never thought I'd ever say that!)
