Soundtheory Gulfoss sale

Post by Guy Rowland »

Thought I'd flag this especially since everyone who owns it loves it. 1/3rd off from Nov 23 - Dec 3rd on their website, discount will automatically be applied.

BTW - I won't be doing a Black Friday round up again this year as my brain is imploding from life and work related things, so if anyone wants to start and maintain one feel very free!

Hi Guy,

Thanks for the heads up on the Gulfoss discount.

I don't have it, but hear a lot of positive feedback from users. Almost like a magical plugin that makes everything sound better, but I'm not sure what it does :)

I'm guessing you recommend it.

I will most likely pick it up Nov. 23rd. It is kind of a pricey at $199. so 1/3 off is not bad at all.

Cheers,

I'd definitely recommend the demo, because it is quite hard to describe beyond "it makes everything sound better". Often the demos are very subtle in their use, so that's another reason why the demo is so useful. I pushed it right to its maximum to hear what it does when taken way too far, which I always do, then you know what to listen out for in terms of adverse effects. One thing I didn't immediately realise is that there are low and high cutoffs right on the main display which are very useful. I've found on the low end in particular it can go nuts if it thinks nothing is going on for a while. It's not an insert-and-forget effect.

But it IS great. I wasn't that knocked out by Soothe (and ironically I found it introduced distortion on poorer quality material in Post), so I'm very wary of that one. This can perform a similar function and more besides. (BTW Soothe is also on sale, I see).

Don't know anything about Soothe.

But I hear good things about Gulfoss.

Thanks.
