The Wavestation is one of the only synthesizers I ever sold. A friend of mine really wanted it, and offered me a very fair price. And I wasn't using it nearly as much as I thought I might, having been a huge fan of the Prophet VS. Alas I never did get around to replacing it. I vaguely recall that the money went to another guitar... always my biggest weakness.

This edition sounds great, and more important, it looks like it is much easier to use, or more complete, or... not sure the word I'm looking for, but someone obviously great thought was put into this design.

Since then of course the technology has been transferred once again, this time to soft-synths. I have both the Arturia and the Korg versions, I like them both, probably favor the Korg version, which I got when I purchased the upgrade from the MS-20 to the bundle. It was a nice surprise.

Now it's back in hardware - too bad for Korg that they announced it on the heels of the 2600 re-issue, that one kind of took the wind out of my sales in terms of buying new hardware. Not like I don't have enough??? Am I allowed to say that here???

To me the Wavestation was the most influencial synth of that time!

I remember vividly when I tested it in the shop the day they had it connected. ( I knew the shop owner, otherwise this would have been difficult due to the many who wanted a go on her too.) I played it for three hours straight without putting down my headphones once, and left the shop with a big carton under my arm and a hole in my pocket. Later I got the A/D too.

I hope they will bring out another version with user sample upload, digital in/out and 3 more stereo balanced outs.
