That really is a wildly romantic string sound quite unlike anything else out there, and - frankly - I wants it, my precious. Do we know anything at all about nextmidi or this library?

And there was me thinking I was so cyncial these days I was teaser/hype proof. Apparently not, I've played it four times already.

It seems to have both solo and ensemble strings, and if that genuinely is a live performance it can't be more than CC1 on a foot pedal.

Cubase tracks in the teaser show CC data in the events so it could be exp pedal or recorded afterward?

It's possible this isn't even a sample library, but something midi/control app related? Or maybe both?
- The app on the touchscreen is something I've never seen before.
- It's implied that he's recording 9 tracks at the same time, which would need some sort of intelligent divisi script.
- Apparently the developer of the SWAM strings was also teasing this on his page.
- (The company is called Nextmidi and not Nextsamples :D )

Anyway, whatever it is, I'm definitely very intrigued!

Yes, good points. But I've never heard modelled strings sound anything remotely as good as this, if Nextmidi is essentially just a midi controller. Whatever witchcraft this is definitely intrigues me.

It's a sweeping, romantic sound indeed. If it is a new strings library I am intrigued. If it is an app and the teaser music has been created with Audio Modeling Strings, I will have to give that library another look. Especially the lower strings part sound impressive. Not something I have heard from any sample library before.

Post deleted, was listening to sample modelling strings not audio modelling - Audio Modelling is just solo strings, right?

I have a hunch that Nextmidi may just be intelligent divisi/MIDI routing software (judging from the company name and logo) perhaps paired with an Audio Modelling release (judging by the fact that Audio Modelling shared the teaser video on their Facebook). Looks and sounds interesting either way, though!

Think so too. That solo violin (starting at 0'21") sounds distinctly AudioModelling-like. (In fact, it's not too difficult to get a near identical sound from the existing SWAM solo violin.)
Still, if that is the case and these are indeed Audio Modelling strings, they seem to have done a pretty good job on the modelling of their ensemble strings. Might well cause some white knuckles, the gnashing of teeth and a few Mediterranean expletives over at Sample Modelling.

All very intreresting... so perhaps best guess at the moment is that we are seeing three things in that video. Audio Modelling solo strings; Audio Modelling ensemble strings (yet to be announced) and some kind of switcher / controller which is the next midi bit.

Well, it feels like a helluva leap from this...

... to the video in the OP doesn't it? Bach sounds pretty dreadful to me, though not quite as dreadful as the Sample Modelling ensembles which are almost GM-bad.

What if it is intelligent midi routing and scripting etc with the ability to use what ever library you want...demo could be a combination of a lot of things. If they have produced a bunch of templates for various libraries and combos, that could be interesting.

Another perspective: what if the library is done by this new developer and the IPad interface is actually Camelot Pro, developed by AudioModeling?

„Vision of a workflow” does not sound like sample libraries. Those short woodwinds sound lovely.

I’m sufficiently teased. I hope the Emperor has no wardrobe issues.

Its clearly an iPad thingy, but what is it controlling? This didn't quite knock me off my feat in the same was as number 1 (but we have a power cut here so only listening on an iPhone speaker which could be a factor), but do these sound like Audio Modelling woodwinds to anyone?

It sounds like those old Symphobia multis. Anyone remember "Jeep Fight"? :D They had programmed it so you played one key and you got a woodwind staccato on the root, m3, and 5th, doubled by xylophone, and then with trumpets also playing a triad an octave below etc. So the standard JW orchestration from movies like Indiana Jones or Star Wars.

This seems like the same sort of thing.... either pre orchestrated ensembles as a library, or perhaps a MIDI tool of some kind to take your existing libraries and create "one key press" orchestrated ensembles out of them. At the end of the video it looked like it was taking a single piano performance and "writing" it onto several tracks at the same time with monophonic lines pre-orchestrated out. No idea how they could've achieved that.

Sounds modelled to me, yes. Something about the timbres and the dynamic changes, as well as those gliding legatos of the flute (0'28"-0'30") which all sound a bit algorithmic, I find. But it certainly isn't bad.
