One of the many treasures in Spectrasonics' Keyscape is the Rhodes Piano Bass. If you don't have Keyscape, but you would like to have a (virtual) Rhodes Piano Bass, Sampleson have released a modelled version of the same instrument and, sing hallelujah, it's free for a limited time.
Sampleson have called their recreation 'Fire' (I'm guessing that's a reference to The Doors' "Light My Fire") and, adding to the few demo's which are posted on the website, here's how the plugin sounds on my computer. No processing, other than a bit of reverb that comes with the plugin.
Some technical details:
- Spectral modeled full range Rhodes Bass Piano.
- Included Drive and Reverb FXs.
- Low end harmonic knob.
- HD Scalable interface.
- Releases, mechanical noises and velocity controls.
- No layer switching (Smooth velocity curve).
- No extra purchases needed (like Kontakt, UVI, etc) or any other 3rd. party player.
- Ready to be loaded into major DAWs (Cubase, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cakewalk, Reaper, Bitwig, Nuendo, FL Studio, etc.).
- Win 32/64-bits and Mac VST/AU/Standalone versions included.
- Just 30MB installed.
- No library installation required.
- No online activation required.
Like I said, it's available for free at the moment (simply use the code GETINSPIRED at checkout); after the introduction period the price will be $29.
