Cubase 50% off [now includes updates and upgrades]

Post by Guy Rowland »

The deal is for new customers, but Steinberg say that update discounts will be coming later in the year. There is a competitive crossgrade version which really is incredibly cheap, £145 in the UK. Crossgrade from Ableton Live Standard / Suite, Logic Pro, Cakewalk Sonar Platinum / Professional, Digital Performer, FL Studio Signature / Producer, Pro Tools / Pro Tools HD, Reason (from Version 6), Studio One Professional.

What might be worth some existing Pro customers considering is that Elements is half price too, £43 in the UK. I've found that great for laptop work, wonderful to not use a dongle and I only very rarely need more than the basics on the road.

That is a nice price indeed! Haven't used Cubase since the late '90s, maybe it's time for a another go. Downloading the trial now...

One hopes there will be a competitive crossgrade from Cubase 6 to match the others :)

Ouch, instant crash-fest. Something "fishy" with my Mac I guess, when selecting my audio device (which is an aggregated device) I get instant crashes, every time. Not just regular crashes but hard re-boots.

No experience with this Thomas, but I’d try to start up with one device, aggregate the two, save a project and see what happens.

Well, my rig is a hackintosh and works like a charm (most of the time). Once in a while it just shuts down when dealing with something that, I believe, has to do with the audiocard(s). Found the "bug" when loading a few specific Kontakt instruments into Kontakt 6, instacrash. Works fine in Kontakt 5 so there is something that responds in a different way on my hack. Probably needs an update.

Anyhow, uninstalled Cubase, have no energy left for making something work (not dissing Cubase here in any way) that I'm in no particular need of just because it's cheap :)

Good price though, real good...

So, I would go with the update with my be exception-it requires Sierra, and because of my old machine I’m stuck on El Capitan unless I hack it. I’ve heard anecdotal evidence that C 10 will work on El Cap though not officially supported. Has anyone tried it or know anything about it?
