Made my first Black Friday purchase - Goodhertz Lossy. It does something nothing else I have can, and it does it quite brilliantly. Amazingly versatile, and a huge amount of fun, installs on multiple computers without fuss - what more can you ask for for $44?

Re: Black Friday 2018
Well, the new Waves plugin looks interesting - a new de-esser called Sibilance:
I've got it, but won't be trying it or even installing it until they sort out the whole v9/v10 thing at Waves Central.
https://www.waves.com/plugins/sibilancePowered by Waves’ innovative Organic ReSynthesis technology, this transparent vocal de-esser removes harsh vocal ‘s’ sounds faster than ever before, with exceptional quality – allowing you to make your vocals brighter without harshness.
Thanks to its Organic ReSynthesis engine, Sibilance allows precise identification of unwanted sibilant sounds such as ‘s’ and ‘sh’, resulting in smooth, glitch-free, effective de-essing which maintains the timbre, duration, and natural resonance of the original vocal sound.

Re: Black Friday 2018
Picked up FabFilter ProQ2 for a song at BestService (had some BestCoin to help). Thought I'd be happy with that and VIR2's Mallets but then Toontrack put EZDrummer2 on sale ($75 at TimeSpace) and since I'm already hooked into that ecosystem I'll probably get it.

Added the Xtant Audio sale as well as one announced for Hollo Sounds.
(Guy, I didn't include the Sofia Woodwinds sale from Librewave because it's an introductory offer rather than a BF sale.)

Spitfire’s raffle/tombola tickets went live 30 mins ago, they usually disappear pretty quickly, though they’re doing three more sets throughout today.

Re: Black Friday 2018
Worth highlighting this one via Audio Plugin deals - a 5 in 1 Soundiron bundle for $99 - https://audioplugin.deals/5-1-soundiron ... al/ref/10/ . Includes Venus Women's choir which RRPs at $399, along with Bryn, Steel Tones, Cymbology Bowed and Drinking Piano.
nb - they say it's only live for a few hours, so if you fancy it, hurry up. Also added their Sample Tekk and Impact Soundworks time limited bundles, and 70% off Morphestra 2 from Sample Logic.

Thanks for everyone’s work keeping this updated. I managed to get through a Black Friday with wallet intact save for a ScoreClub.net course.
Cheers!

I bought it some time ago and regret it. My fault for not doing enough homework to find out that it's standalone only. No plugin for inserting into a DAW host.soundbylaura wrote: ↑Nov 22, 2018 6:33 pm Picked up FabFilter ProQ2 for a song at BestService (had some BestCoin to help). And besides that, it does very little that you can't do with some basic EQ band reduction, a bit of synth noise and distortion. I was looking for an inexpensive, dongle-free alternative to Speakerphone/Futzbox at the time... I have since discovered AudioThing's Speaker & Megaphone plugins. Great little easy-to-use plugs, and not at all expensive.

Re: Black Friday 2018
Another late entrant - Embartone have a solo strings deal at Audio Plugins.
BTW on phone emulators, that Goodhertz Lossy thing does a far better impression of modern mobile phone / Skype break ups than Speakphone does.
I went for the Soundiron thing, I think this may have been my not-very-well-considered Black Friday purchase for the year. Venus sounds pretty good, but really I feel I'm done with these sorts of libraries. They feel like they were made a decade ago... patches all over the place, different folders for close and stage, different folders for DFD etc. Its just very clunky in use and in the cold light of day the tone isn't so different from my current options. Bryn might get some specific very occasional use, Drinking Piano sounds awfully like Granny Piano which I already have and the others felt like filler.
Oh well.
Still considering Seventh Heaven which I'll probably spring for, but the big one isn't really a Black Friday deal at all - I've just ordered a Line 6 Variax Standard guitar. A retailer here - Andertons - had dropped prices to £399 from the usual £550+ level a couple of months ago, and other retailers had come close. I panicked yesterday when I checked... everyone else had gone right back up again, and one colour had for Andertons too, so I went for the black still at £399 in a blind panic. Wish me luck.

Re: Black Friday 2018
Ha, well remembered - no very much not impulse.
Earlier this year I spent a happy day with a good friend who really knows his guitars at Denmark St in London, the guitar mecca. I tried about a dozen of different models at different prices, some eye-wateringly expensive as I'd listen to Chris explain to me what the differences were in terms of playing and tone. There was no Eureka moment for me. I have, shall we say, an idiosyncratic playing style and make no claims to be a virtuoso, and didn't feel anything where I felt I was in a different world.
I ended up buying a tuner.
I ended up concluding that the Variax was made for people like me - just a competent Strat copy but could at the flick of a switch sound like almost any other guitar else. Once I've had a proper play I'll start a thread on it.

Thanks for the AudioThing Megaphone tip! Had a little virtual cash at Plugin Boutique so I grabbed it for $5.40.Quasar wrote: ↑Nov 23, 2018 10:29 pmI bought it some time ago and regret it. I use Plug & Mix's Degradiator way more than I thought I would, when I need to match crappy Skype calls to even-crappier Skype calls. As a VIP Bundle owner it was added to the bundle at no charge.
BTW, that bundle is BF priced at $50. With 50 plugs it's pretty easy to find something you'll like in there.

I must admit I'm a bit disappointed with Black Friday.... everything I want is only 20-25% off. Where as everything I don't care about is like 50+% off

I know what you mean about the discounts. There's not been a real slam dunk combo of huge-discount-off-a-great-product for me.
Re: Black Friday 2018
Worst thing...just spotted a new sample library that moved instantly to the top of my list, but as it's new, there's no discount at all.
I was quite pleased getting an additional 5% off CSS though.

Re: Black Friday 2018
Picked up the Keep Forest bundle. Surprisingly good sounds and LOTS of useful things in there for trailer music. Some misgivings about a couple of GUI's but otherwise very content with the purchase.
