Not sure if anyone here is interested in this or not, but thought I'd post here just in case some Solo String users haven't received the update message:

Wonderful Update from Spitfire, I hope to see them update the solo Viola and Cello as well.

I know I know, but did you listen to Paul’s video? It really does seem terribly good - Andy on programming duties here it seems.

I did. It does sound very good. I’m definitely intrigued.

One thing in his video-very little legato playing. The trills were interesting-I’m not sure exactly what he was saying about them but they were very fluid. I’m curious about the general legato connectivity and lag. That’s where I tend not to buy into Spitfire’s stuff 100%, which is probably good ‘cause I’d be broke. On the other hand, every time I play those SCS spiccs, I get a rush. So damn good.

I hope the legatos are awesome and that they redo the other solo strings to match. I’d have no choice but to buy them.

Yes, when you analyse it not a great proportion is legato, but there are some stretches eg 21s, and I think the odd note in his main passage, all of which sound very good to me. And likely some these are triggering some of the different types of legato. Agreed its not forensic, but I'm pretty optimistic - has anyone got their hands on this yet?

I have it, it is very good to my taste, I don´t think is Joshua Bell in terms of responsiveness, but it is indeed good. I am hoping for viola and cello (or just cello in a hurry)

The problem I am having is that the soft attack and slow progressive vibrato (they listened when we asked for a legato version of this), are triggerd by velocities 1-9, and my lousy keyboard cannot handle that kind of resolution. I am pestering spitfire for those ranges to be a little more expanded.

Besides that I like it very much, just from a couple of hours of playing.
