CineSamples CineBrass Descant Horn

Post by Guy Rowland »

Something of a surprise release, a Kontakt Player library of just a solo descant horn:

Price $149, $50 discount for CineBrass owners (via email coupon)

Lovely tone, lovely sounding legato. Personally what I also wanted to hear in the walkthrough was a proper listen at the crossfading of velocity, which is so poor in the CB Pro series, but it seemed curiously absent.

OK, I actually had to Google search to find out what a descant horn is :) Sounds nice enough.

My best friend from high school is a fairly brilliant Horn player, and many years ago, after buying his third or fourth horn, bought a Descant horn. It is really a fascinating instrument. Back then I still had a tiny bit of chops left, and I had a blast playing it. At this point I can't make a sound with any brass instrument... oh well, that's why sample libraries are so cool!
