"Time to get exotic", they call it. What that means is that, for three days only, EastWest's "Silk", "Ra" and "Gypsy" are available (direct download) for only $149. Which is 60% off of the normal price.

Hmmm...I'm curious about this one, as I don't have very many ethnic instruments. I'm wondering if anyone here uses any of these still? Would be good to hear any thoughts on them please.

I only own 'Gipsy' and I've always liked it. The Gipsy violin has served me often and well (an instrument of limited powers and expression but it does some things remarkably well), the cimbalom is very good (great timbre), the accordions are nice, and the guitars, while not in the league of products from Efimov, AmpleSound, OrangeTree, Pettinhouse or ISW, are definitely useful too. And the percussion has its uses as well (if you happen to have the right music for it). Can't remember ever using the trombone though.
Have to add however that it's been a looong time since I used 'Gipsy'. PLAY itself (pre version 5) had something to do with that.
