iZotope Neutrino - Free Spectral Shaping plugin

Post by Guy Rowland »

I can't pretend to know what this really is or what it does - adds detail and polish apparently and it's a bit like a summing mixer or something - but hey its free and CPU lite. I thought I could hear a very very subtle difference the 2nd time it was enabled in this demo video with their on-screen hints of what to listen for, but I might have been kidding myself.

I agree. Held off after listening (with prompts), trying to figure out exactly what it did that I could not do with fader movement or using the Clariphonic. But hey, it is free.

Hmm. Seeing as it's made by izotope, I'll give it a shot for free. I think it's probably best treated like a subtle eq, compression & saturation tool based on pre-defined presets, or something similar...? I kinda don't like these sausage fattener type plugins that just do a load of tweaks for you. I don't feel like my skills are gonna improve that way..
