I like Cinesamples' enthusiasm. They work hard and always try to improve their products, not just talk. It's a rare thing in world of samples. Strings sound great btw.

Yeah, thanks for the vid. Seems like they're still a little ways away from releasing it.

The Tina Guo cello library was interesting and they quickly did an upgrade for more of her acoustic articulations. They must have learned a lot from that experience since it appears that they are able to add a little playable emotion in this library. This video bodes well for them coming out with a good product.

It's been a while since I felt motivated to buy anything from them. The last thing I bought from them was CineStrings and I've ended up using it only sparingly. Although it does allow for easy change of articulations within a phrase that I can only do in a few other libraries. So it definitely is useful.

This Solo library could be used a lot for layering to define bigger section sounds of (even other developer's) larger ensemble libraries.

Looks pretty good - at least from the video. I like that there are so many operations consistencies with their other products.

Oh.. I don't own any Cinesamples Strings, and I'm guessing they are going to improve all of their core strings libraries in the future (which he mentions in the video). Always good to see developers improve their products, and Cinemsamples is on the right track.

A little disappointed by the quality of the cellist performance tone and dynamics. Especially after Tina.
I like the tone of the vlns and vla.

This sounds pretty much how I thought it would. Pretty good and definitely in the vein of Cinesamples. The chamber ensembles sound ok.

I guess I should be more excited about all of these solo string libraries that are coming out but honestly all I can think about is how “sampled” they all sound. What is the end game for these? As a mockup for real players? Bc then I’d just stick with Embertone/VSL/LASS and that would be more than enough to get the point across. If it’s to tuck into a bed of other sounds in a cue that you are trying to pass off as the finished product to a director or producer…then, ok maybe but i find these to be case by case. Usually, I reach for 8dio longs and shorts (not legatos) as crossfades are a dead giveaway even within a dense piece. If it is for an exposed string quartet or soloist, forget it. it’s hard enough to sell someone on ens/div patches as not sounding overtly fake even with synths and perc playing.

Not that I haven't heard one or two good str qtet mockups (Rob's Ravel with EWSO comes to mind) but with the amount of elbow grease and luck... seems like those are bound to be the exception.
