Modartt has released the electro-acoustic piano Vintage Tines MKII for Pianoteq. The instrument accompanies the Vintage Tines MKI and Vintage Reeds W1 as part of the Electric Pianos instrument pack.
The MKII reflects mechanical improvements made by the manufacturer after the MKI release. The Pianoteq emulation offers 30 exciting presets, many of these created by the sound designer Klaus P. Rausch.

Three demo's:
(1) Bismark, a neo-70's funky jam which features, alongside two instances of Pianoteq MkII, the Mixosaurus drums, some LoopLoft's Charlie Hunter guitar and the Amplesound Bass P. This demo shows the grittier side of the MkII.
(2) 119bpm, a groove with a distinct nod to Steely Dan. (That was my intention anyway.) Besides Pianoteq (all the keyboards, incl. the synth solo lines): ToonTrack's C&V Drums, Pettinhouse DirectGuitar (muted) and again the Bass P.
(3) Chalk, something a little more abstract and ambient in which Pianoteq gets company from the Madrona Aalto synth (for the bass) and Softube's Heartbeat (el. drums).

Very nice sounding, Piet. I can confirm you have the funk. All those other instruments sounding fine too, and a timely reminder of the Pettinhouse muted guitar.

It sounds a step up from the NI Vintage Keys which I like very much, but I suspect in my hands the benefits might be less apparent.

Not bad, but not the Neo Soul either IMHO.
