Performance Samples VISTA II – SMALL STRING ENSEMBLES LITE

Post by My name is Nobody »

This is a gorgeous and well made strings ensemble library, with some special attention to details that make a world of difference.

The sustain patches ( and marcato) have a wonderful cohesive sound throughout the whole range and the release samples complete the picture to me of feeling it’s an actual string chamber orchestra playing .
It also doesn’t have this densifying effect known to ensemble patches .

The staccato and spiccatos are so very playable and sound like the bow is actually changing when a new note is played. I don’t know how it’s achieved but it sure sounds good.

There are already new to be released free additions like tenuto on the way that add another possibility to this library.

This is my first full library from Jasper (bought fluid shorts 1) that I thought might be it, and I think it’s unlike a string library I have in terms of sound and actual achievable realism ( like I still look for)

Blakus has a recent YT video that demonstrates this library very well, and the YT videos from Jasper obviously too demonstrate it’s magic well.

For those that like me haven’t considered PS until now, I ‘d recommend it fully!

It is quite good, isn't it? Extremely playable. The many dynamic layers make a big difference, even though I feel/hear a jump somewhere pre-half distance on CC1 if I recall. I've already used it several times and I fear won't be able to do without. Looking forward to the update, as well as the rest of Vista at this point. Shaping up to be better than Pacific, and more of a sound tailored to my liking.
Pale Blue Dot.

Pacific, as good as it was announced and promoted by many users, couldn’t get me indeed.
Too polished, or something about it that was a tad artificial.

And yes, the Vista II series is becoming more attractive to watch out for, and find out which modules( as I think Jasper names them) can become part of my template.

PS: haven’t yet heared that dynamic layer jump in the middle….but only got it recently and in my enthusiasm may not noticed it….Nonetheless 12 of them sure is a world of difference.

If I understood Blakus correctly, you rarely hear just one dynamic layer at a time. There is almost always a crossfade between two layers, which makes the library sound larger than the 5-5-5-3 that were recorded. However, if you play the quietest or loudest dynamic, you will notice that only one dynamic layer plays and the library sounds smaller.
Ensemble patches don't fit my workflow. However, I will keep an eye out for the full library release.
