Starting on March 25, 2025, native UADx plug-in and LUNA licenses can be activated to local host (machine) locations – on up to three (3) computers or to an iLok USB. This allows you to use them anywhere after activation without requiring an internet connection. https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articl ... r-Computer
This sounds like iLok Cloud has been retired as an option - 3x machines or physical iLok.

Hm, ok. Does that mean that if we authorize to iLok we can forego having to use the always-present UA Connect app? Quite dislike it up there taking up unnecessary resources and launching every time I instantiate a plugin.

Actually I always uninstall UA Connect the moment it has installed a plugin. It simply doesn't need to be there.
I was only ever using iLok Cloud to run Pro Tools on my laptop, but in the background on my main rig UA Connect was stealing my iLok Cloud session every time I booted the computer, never mind used any audio software. Every time on the laptop I'd have to start a new Cloud session.
It's safe to uninstall UA Connect once you're all set up.
