Serum 2

Post by Jaap »

Serum 2 has just launched and for anyone owning Serum, it's a free upgrade! That is really awesome. Some really neat and interesting stuff has been added.
I have just downloaded it and not played around with it yet, but looking forward to it.

If you own Serum, just login to your account and upgrade. If you don't own it, there is a rare sale and it's now on sale for $189 (regular $249)

There’s a lot to like, there.
How about Vital ? Still relevant and comparable ?

Indeed a lot to like! I just played with it briefly. My old cpu is not so happy though as it is quite intensive on the cpu on some patches and from what I read it looks like it's optimised for Macs a bit more then for PC's. Hopefully that changes in the future.
For me it will be a very interesting sound design tool to craft new sounds (not only for Serum sets), but also to create new sounds for trailer stuff etc.

Not sure about Vital as I never clicked with it and I use Serum already since it was released (a decade ago?) and for me that made me ignore Vital more or less.

I'm happy that they mainly kept the clean GUI from V1, easy to find what you want to tweak.

Haven't had much time to play with it yet, need some time to dig into all the new features. Great update! And free!
Time is life, use it wisely.
