Mac Thunderbolt, shared?

I wonder, is Thunderbolt shared? What I mean is this, say you have a Mac specified with Thunderbolt 5, that has 3 ports, does each port provide 120 Gbps, or is that shared, hence each NVME you would connect gets 40 Gbps only? .

Same with TB 4, if you have 4 TB ports and connect 4 NVME drives, do each of them get the full 40Gbps, or only 10 Gbps?

According to this, at least the M4 SoC has individual controllers. Seems like the shared structure was a limitation of the Intel days.

Thanks Luke. Thing is, if I had more than one NVME, I could have tested it myself.
