Or, ummm…need I say it….starts with O…hmm.

I would say the appeal or lack of thereof will almost entirely be related to three things:
1. Are they already subscribers to the Composer Cloud?
2. Do they want to make that kind of music from those eras and genres?
3. Do they already own versions of all these, or most of these, that they like?

#3 btw is the reason that the only Spectrasonics library I don't own is Keyscape. It's great, but I l already have great pianos, Rhodes, Wurlitze's and organs.

I’m sure Guy will chime in and I think he’ll agree that those sounds are still used in modern pop.

Whether those particular emulations are your cup of tea or not is an open question.

I don't know, perhaps the intro medley was responsible for my first impression that this library will be interesting for cruise ship entertainers.

Well indeed. To me analog (and to a slightly lesser extent digital) synths are just primary colours now. People don't think of the Fender Strat as being uniquely suited to the 50s.

That said, I know what you mean Jay. I played that demo on the website (love their interactive mixer thingy, it's terrific), and cheese is the headline foodstuff. The medley framing recalls Stars On 45, probably the single worst thing about the 1980s (though the cold war was no picnic). It's also not getting those sounds quite right, so it's aping something of terrible taste and not quite delivering.

Jay’s right though, if you have Composer Cloud-bonus. Though many will have those sounds already.

Possibly this isn't aimed at us dinosaurs?

If you are just starting out, this is a fantastic add on for Composer Cloud.

Modern synth pop does indeed use those sounds. I lack Guy's affection for the genre though.
