Nope, I have Melodyne and it doesn't really. I attended an LA "Tech Breakfast" meeting yesterday and an engineer I know told me this really does work well.
I went to Audionamix yesterday and worked with an ADX Trax Pro product specialist, a brilliant girl named Ellie McNeil, and will be doing a review for MacproVideo. It is pretty amazing. It doesn't do a perfect job (it had trouble with a vocal and a Fender Rhodes,) but it certainly does it well enough that you can do a new arrangement around the exported isolated vocal in your DAW.
It is not, however, an instant gratification tool, you have to spend a fair amount of time and work with it to get optimal results, but this is the first product in a long time that actually made me think, "Wow, I want to spend some serious time learning to use this well."
I think we are now at the point where computers are powerful enough that Audionamix, Celemony, and Zynaptic, among others, are allowing us to do things that 30 years ago would have seemed like Jules Verne.
I contacted them re Windows versions of their software. Production Supervisor David Hewitt responded: "We do have plans to release a Windows version. However we have not set a solid release date yet. The plan is for sometime at the end of 2016 or early 2017".
I am learning to separate vocals from tracks with ADX TRAX Pro. Not easy, but absolutely remarkable and both challenging and exciting and I have made great progress already. Love adding new skills to my skill set! So if anyone has a recording they love the vocal but would like to redo the arrangement, let me know.

Well I already turned in the article, but if you want to email me a file, I will give it a shot to see how it fares. It isn't advertised as serving that purpose, but you never know until you try.
It was just a general question. I thought I'd seen solo instruments mentioned somewhere. I think it would be of interest to potential users. Would you mind giving it a go?

I'd be happy to.
Great, thanks Jay.
Here's a quote from their website that specifically mentions solo instruments (emphasis mine):
"ADX TRAX Pro 2.6 goes beyond the automatic separation by giving users the ability to directly edit their results by time and frequency, adjust gain, attenuate or remove sounds, extract, raise or lower the level of a vocal or solo instrument in a mono or stereo mix and correct audio anomalies using effective restoration tools."

If you don't apply the Processing to retain short reverb or long reverb, it does reasonably well, although at that point you might want something live Zynaptiq's Unveil to go further.
Ever heard this demixing plugin by smartelectronix?
Demonstration video: Caution: Too lengthy

I wonder whether it demixes different or same as Pitchmap or ADX TRAX.
