Looks like a slick integration. As if often the way with Pro Tools, very slow to arrive but well implemented when it finally does. (Hopefully).

Looking forward to this. Polyphonic detection in Melodyne (via Pro Tools AAX plugin) has been fantastic for my music composition.

Yeah, agreed - polyphonic is miraculous.

This is the first serious new feature in Pro Tools for aaaaages.

I was surprised to get an email from Avid regarding this. They almost never email me about upcoming features.

Looking forward to a new level of Melodyne integration in Pro Tools.

Best,

Geoff

We have had it in Logic Pro for quite a while. The ARA can be a bit persnickety but yes, Polyphonic mode is pretty incredible.

Just an aside warning - there's some confusion at the moment as to whether this is coming to Pro Tools Studio. The original email and blog post from Avid says:
ARA 2 Melodyne integration will be included in the next Pro Tools software update and available for all Pro Tools customers on an active subscription or perpetual license with a current Software Updates + Support Plan—stay tuned!
Which seems nice and unambiguous. Until their second email mailshot, which says:
ARA 2 integration is coming soon to Pro Tools Ultimate! Fix pitchy vocals, harmonize notes, transpose tracks, and fix timings directly in your Pro Tools Ultimate Edit window with Celemony Melodyne 5 essential—included with Pro Tools support plans*. It’s fast and easy and doesn’t require roundtripping audio.

Get access when you upgrade your existing perpetual Pro Tools Ultimate or Pro Tools | HD license* to the latest Pro Tools Ultimate perpetual license (yes, you'll stay on your perpetual license). Plus, save 33% if you act now (just $499)!
Now, this could just be a targeted email to Ultimate customers. But if it is coming to Studio too, one would expect a similar mailshot with the word Ultimate replaced by Studio. Thus far, this hasn't happened, it's only Ultimate customers that have confirmation.

I received the email and I'm not on Ultimate. My bet is they forgot their own naming convention already :wallbang:

Yes, just heard elsewhere that the Studio owner emails have got theirs which namechecks the Studio brand (well done Avid!) so good news. No-one seems to know if Artist has it yet.

Mine didn't say Studio. It just said "coming to Pro Tools".

Some on the DUC are getting the Studio branded emails now apparently.
