Orchestral Tools have released Igudesman Solo Violin.

"To celebrate the launch, we’re offering the collection at a very special rate: Only €129 (regular price €199) until Feb 9, 2022. This is not your conventional solo violin collection. That’s because it comes from a completely unconventional artist: Aleksey Igudesman. We’ve collaborated with the virtuoso violinist and composer to bring you a truly singular collection, featuring an array of new and novel articulations all meticulously recorded on the Teldex Scoring Stage. Included in Igudesman Solo Violin is Aleksey’s signature ‘Neo-electric’ playing style, atonal rhythmic patterns, romantic gitano sounds, and so much more. This is the ideal collection for composers and producers looking to push the boundaries of their creativity. A unique collection from one of the planet’s most unique artists."

Do check out the demos on the product page. Some good material in there.

Interesting one! But while watching the walkthrough, you get the impression of it constantly fading between two violins and one violin while listening to the legato patches. Those transitions don't really work for anything, where you would hear a solo violin in isolation or with sparse accompaniment. I suppose it is rather difficult to create solo instrument transitions without any phasing and with so much timbral richness in the sound it gets even harder ...

It is a treasure chest full of nice little shorts that you almost get nowhere else though. It is just sad, that the legatos, that would allow you to do some alternative soli, do only work in a very limited way. Fast things seem to work rather well (Ben Botkins demo) while slow transitions sound like a phasing between two instruments and one solo (David Kudells demo).
