I just downloaded it and tried it out and it is fantastic. I wouldn't mind it if NI was planning to release more Asian instruments like this.

Thanks for the heads up on this.
I love the sound of Chinese Instruments.

Yes, that would be super cool.
They have a Middle East, and India, and I think South American/Latin Instrument libraries, but not Chinese Instruments.

What an amazing freebie! Sounds terrific and a ton of features. Can't find a manual though and kinda confused as to how to start phrases. Hovering over says "with activated performance keys, playback can be triggered between C1 and A1". Can't make that work for the life of me.

You hold down the key. But you can also access the MIDI for each phrase via one of the tabs on the interface (I'm not looking at it right now) and drag that to a track, which is awesome.
This is helpful if not a bit over the top

Ah thanks, I've found a midi drag/drop so that's something, but still can't play it in the instrument by holding any key.
God I'm old.

Not old...confused like I was by what is shown in the presentation. Here's what I discovered which might help, at least somewhat. Instead of loading the default patch, load, for example, Autumn Wind. You should now see an octave of pink keys between the orange keys and the blue keys. Holding any pink key plays one of the Autumn Wind phrases. Maybe you already know this, but it is a way to play phrases. Also, in the Default patch, the little arrow in the white area the bottom of the GUI can be used to play a phrase and the double arrows to the right change the phrase.

Thank you Frank, I guess this is how they compromised on it, eh? That feels quite inelegant which is unusual for NI, but here I am complaining about a wonderful free thing from them, so shut up me.
