Nyckelharpa, Hardanger fiddle comes to mind.

I'm sure some will disagree but to me these tutors are at the top of their game and in the world.

Also been fortune to perform with real Nordic folk-musicians (I’m not one by a million years) and their joy and stamina is incredible. One gig lasted more than more than five hours!?!
And that was not a rehearsal, they/we just started with a few songs we “knew” and then...
This has happened a few times and I’m always amazed. It’s the best word I can think of, amazed.
They are amazing.

I would really love to travel to *insert a remote area* and work with local musicians.
My wife and I had that as an option if our adoption plans would fail, as they almost did. To just “fuck this” and travel/meet/learn.
But as a father of a relative small child that needs a bit of special care (too long and personal to get into) we are grounded for a few years.
But then...who knows?

I (we) don’t care for success or wealth. We would just love to meet and dream with these musicians.
And to be able to tell their/a story, to carry that to other remote areas.
...Or that was our plan ten years ago.
Now we are more aware that our planet need some rest from us traveling and that we can meet online and still get a personal touch.
We are not sure what to do or where to go (figuratively speaking) anymore.

Long and winding I know.
But viva the folk music where ever that might be.
