BOOM Library's ReCenter is a true dynamic stereo-centering plugin. (The first thought that came to mind when reading about it, was that here is something that 8dio should include with all of their libraries.) Anyway, here's what BOOM (thus far best known for their outstanding sound-fx libraries) wants us to know about ReCenter:

The Instant Stereo Fix ReCenter automatically repairs off-center stereo recordings while keeping the original stereo width which makes it an invaluable time-saver and a perfect tool for professional post-production. Fix off-centered stereo field recordings, dynamically center vocal artists or musicians that moved around the stage or center hard directional effects like drive-bys and stereo whooshes. ReCenter makes tedious panning automation obsolete so you can focus on your creative flow.

Dynamically Correct Stereo Images Have you ever worked with stereo material that was not centered correctly? Pointing a stereo microphone a hundred percent accurately onto a sound source gets harder the further away the source is. As a result, you get a recording with a constantly shifting center that would require you to manually adjust and automate the panning over the whole recording. ReCenter continuously analyzes the directionality of a stereo or M/S signal and rotates it to a given target angle in real-time – without narrowing the stereo image.

Good-bye Corrective Panning Correct poorly aimed or moving stereo recordings while skipping the time-consuming and most often ineffective pan automation process. All you need to do is tell ReCenter how hard, fast and precisely it should adjust your signal.
This will drastically increase your workflow and save you hours of manual and tedious panning as well as constantly checking your stereo signal. With ReCenter, you have one thing less to worry about and you can focus all your energies on your creative work.

Intro price: €55.20 / $63,20 (Regular price: €69 / $79)

This is a niche tool, but a very useful one I think. If you hadn't have put the 8dio thought in my head, it would have immediately popped up regardless! Impressive demo - retains stereo information but has it anchored.

I dug out the old EW Gypsy violin the other day, which suffers from stereo randomization as well. Might be a reasonable cost fix, but wouldn’t you like 8Dio (and EW in this case) to chip in?

Would be a great branded discount, eh?

Spot on with Gypsy. I tried it again recently, and hurriedly put it away again.

It is a pretty cool tool - not sure how much I'd use it, but it is remarkable for what it can do!

Certainly. But they would have to admit it was a problem. Unfortunately unlikely.

It looks like a great tool that could solve all sorts of little aggravations.

Successfully made me laugh.

The demos sounded fairly impressive. Has anyone had cause to try it yet?
