Every year I pick one charity to give an end of the year donation (beside my regular monthly donations to charity). Last year I did a donation for Save the Children and ran also with Triple Spiral Audio a fundraising. This year I have picked the non profit organisation The Ocean Cleanup.

How does this work:

The Ocean Cleanup Charity Box costs €50,00 and you can add 3 products up to your liking to the box.

I donate €1500 myself to this organisation as I did also last year for Save The Children. All the money that comes from sales of this Ocean Cleanup Charity Box will be added to that amount and I hope we can contribute like this a good amount for this very important and great initiative. After the Christmas Holidays I will donate the money and share with you the donation details.

This charity campaign runs till 24 December.

About The Ocean Cleanup

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organisation from The Netherlands founded in 2012 by Boyan Slat. The Ocean Cleanup develops advanced technologies to rid the world's oceans of plastic. A full-scale deployment of their systems is estimated to clean up 50 % of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch every 5 years.

This is an amazing initiative that I am following already since its start. On September 8, 2018 they have deployed their first system into the Pacific and you can follow its progress here: https://www.theoceancleanup.com/system001/

Great initiative Jaap, and this will definitely overcome my general reticence at buying more presets. Synth sounds and cleaner oceans? What on earth is not to like?!

Yes it's a great (and very much needed!) initiative and also looked to me the best of both worlds to combine those :)

I went for Pagan percussion for Omni 2, The Stand for Avenger, and Heroes for the u-he Repros. All good stuff, and its Hereos that really stands out to me, terrific stuff (and I've never even been that fussed about Bowie.... heresy I know...). Those 2 Rerpos are just magnificent beasts, I really do turn to them more and more these days, and Heroes is a great addition - some wondrous basses and leads in there.

Hope this initiative does well Jaap, certainly deserves too.

Ah that Bowie, for sure still stirs up the pot :D Thats what I love about him, hard to catch, so creative and I don't like all his music, but damn I admired him as an artist!
And thanks Guy, much appreciated and so far the initiative is going nice!

Really nice that you love the Repro sets, its actually one my personal favorites :)

Merry Christmas to all and hopefully a future with a heck less plastic in every way imaginable :)

Way to go, Jaap! I’d heard of this endeavor when it started a few years ago and was very impressed by the brilliance of this young kid. And by the simplicity of the idea as well. Kind of like how a 10-year old might say: well can’t we just scoop up all the plastic with a big net? But then this kid makes it happen!

Yeah its amazing how he has worked it out and set it up. I am following and supporting him already for years. Its great when somebody think "hmm maybe we just should do this" and then just does it :)
