A New Addition to your Spitfire Symphonic Collection Coming Thursday !
Hi,
It looks like a new addition to the Spitfire Symphonic Collection will be released on Thursday (Aug. 17th) !
Any guesses what this it's going to be ?
My guess is it's either Symphonic Choirs, or Symphonic Percussion , but could be something else . We will know for sure on Thursday.
Cheers,
Muziksculp

That guess pretty much covers all your bases.Muziksculp wrote:My guess is it's either Symphonic Choirs, or Symphonic Percussion , but could be something else.
I suspect it's going to be a repackaged Percussion, but I'll be rather happy to learn it's something new.

It'd be a strange teaser for percussion or choir, considering it featured neither!
Their percussion should really be part of the "Symphonic" line at some point. But it already exists and they repackaged it fairly recently (was it 2015/16?).

Could be a lot... additional instruments (cimbassi, flugelhorns, euphoniums, Eb-clarinets), percussion section, choir, brass mutes, divisi string sections... Spitfire won't retire until everything is sampled in every room.

Then they can release all of it again but with the ceiling at Air lowered

Welp, it's Mural Evolutions repackaged as Symphonic Strings Evolutions:

Mural Evo is pretty cool, and I suppose if you were among those left out due to the hefty obligation to invest in the entire Mural bundle, or disappointed when it vanished after Mural's rebranding as Spitfire Symphonic Strings, then you might be excited by this release.

UGGG! I was a big fan of Spitfire, but I can't keep up with all this rebranding and re-releasing of material. It is so confusing that I have stopped going to the site, and they have fallen off my radar. Anyone else finding this all too confusing?

I'm not really confused by it -- I understand they are trying to rebrand their products to be clearer -- but as someone who already owns all their orchestral stuff, I'm patiently awaiting a new release that I find interesting.

As an owner of Mural Evo, I like it.. although I'll keep my copy for the Outriggers which are probably missing in the repackaging, if it follows the rest of the overhaul.

From the screenshots and walkthrough, looks like full CTAO mics are present. So, probably no reason not to take the free upgrade.mickeyl wrote:although I'll keep my copy for the Outriggers which are probably missing in the repackaging, if it follows the rest of the overhaul.

Get seriously, the pink background and the yellow small control is killing me.
Re: A New Addition to your Spitfire Symphonic Collection Coming Thursday !
Yeah, the color palette isn't winning me over either.

I honestly don't care about the colour palette....I'm just so appreciative of the free update and the wonderful sound it produces. Favorite library to combine with this is Tundra. I spent hours yesterday in creative mood just improvising with this library. My sincere thanks to Spitfire.

Re: A New Addition to your Spitfire Symphonic Collection Coming Thursday !
Is it possible to restrict sections?
I've seen some of the evos have individual patches for sections, but I would like control over the sections in sutti.
I've never used an EVO instrument, tack is there a way to do this? Maybe intentionally restricting range or something? But if it's not controllable then there's too much crossover and I won't like it.

Re: A New Addition to your Spitfire Symphonic Collection Coming Thursday !
No, each individual evolution is orchestrated across the sections with no more fine grained control. Of course you can control which evolution you want to use for each note if you want (by using the individual patches), but those notes are going to be orchestrated across multiple sections. I think for what this library is aiming at accomplishing, that's ok. It's not really pitched as a "more string articulations" library after all.
It's still a favorite pastime to hit the dice icon on Mural Evo and play some prettychords.

Yes, and I like that you can also choose to either randomize the basic traditional (yellow) Evos, the episodic (blue) ones or even the more extreme (red) ones. But is that randomization icon really a die? Hard to tell what it's supposed to be.tack wrote: It's still a favorite pastime to hit the dice icon on Mural Evo and play some prettychords.

Yes, if you squint, tilt your head, and stand on one leg, it's clearly a six-sided die.playz123 wrote:But is that randomization icon really a die? Hard to tell what it's supposed to be.

Not turned away by their rebranding either. Mural Evo was supposed to be exclusive and only wuthin the reach of those who purchased the whole package with extensions. So, nice move. But I think for now on it's close to Uist, without the grid of course...
