Re: Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra
With all due thanks to David Gosnell who re-posted this on VI-C, this is Andy Blaney using Kontakt and Gigastudio VSL in the early 2000s recreating Jupiter from the Planets Suite - https://www.vsl.co.at/audio/AB_Holst_Planets_Jupiter.mp3 . I mean, this is literally why I have a no andy/troel demo r...

Re: FabFilter / Summer Sale -25% on all bundles
Finally, got my very first Fabfilter plug-ins. Got the mastering bundle! well then, how long do you folks give it before tanuj slowly buys every plugin he'll use? I used to think "why would anyone buy an EQ when every daw comes with one". - Now, I don't have the De-esser, but aside from t...

Re: NI / Audiobro / Heavyocity / Soundiron / Cinesamples vocal sale
.... and they have yelled us is the ground in the past for DARING to ONLY have a 25% sale.... Jokes aside - Genesis is quite tempting. The rest not so much, at least not for me. But even Genesis is no match for the real thing and sadly in my opinion with Choirs you hear it when they are sampled. Ma...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass: 1.2 update released
I think I'll revisit this library sooner or later. I think with multiple reverb sends I could come up with something good. Maybe pulling custom impulses from other libraries, ect.

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass
I think the fastest Legato is probably accented, I'm not sure how quick you can adjust Legato speed to achieve really fast stuff, I know there is no speed function for the short notes but you can definitely use velocity, and it's the same for which long variation you're using as well Sizzle is just ...

Re: Toontrack announce 4 new products [May update: Orchestral Percussion SDX out now]
I don't I think there is a lack of round Robins, but on the demo they love the whole percussion section was very limited layers so that the ram was not outrageous The tubular bells for instance when you remove the limits I probably had five microphones loaded and only the Tubular Bells and I was sit...

Re: Toontrack announce 4 new products [May update: Orchestral Percussion SDX out now]
installation was easy, not different than installing anything else. I have most of the SDX from the SD2 era - SD3, and now this. so far it's actually pretty great. I might have to supplement my pitched percussion with synchron haha. I do wish there was an easier way to switch between mallets though....

Re: Toontrack announce 4 new products [May update: Orchestral Percussion SDX out now]
I cant tell how the tubulars were sampled/rrs/layers/anything. I can't imagine they would have been proud of the sampling of it - because they would be bragging about it more if they did. the timpani in the video showed 3 pitches, so I'm guessing it's 3 semi tones per timpani(which doesn't line up w...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass
It's really odd honestly, I notice the build up issues when people stack ensemble/solo brass for chords - and It's almost unbearable... Some people just don't notice it - and I have no idea how it doesn't bother them. And on the contrary - the interesting part to me isn't that MSB doesn't have the w...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass
Oddly, I just replied there. Like I said - I'd rather personally use 3 more instances of shorts on kontakt. then record the shorts using the double tongue articulation, and simply select the notes and change their channels. However - oddly enough, I think it'll be slightly more difficult than that f...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/w3bsyaqab90pk0c/msbaltiverb.mp3?dl=0 I tried to play around with leaving the "main mix" and mixing in a few plugins to make it sit with my berlin libraries. I know it's not perfect - but does this sound like it's on the right path? The music is as random as usual(...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass
Hey guy, you can always toss cc1 onto volume and then change the values from like 80%-100% in kontakt
The weird flatness is something that I battled with sample modelling - or in general if you reduce things to mono then try to pan them.

I don't know flo…. if CSB had been recorded at MGM sony stage >.> I oddly still feel like cinebrass being kind of old scripting wise is such a shame. Track down doesn't sound terrible - but there is something about it that bothers me about CSS/CSB. It's like a generic soda or something - that's 80% ...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass
Thanks Kyle, those horns definitely sounding improved to my ears. Nice to hear the variation in attacks too, that's a definite plus over CB. well im way past my bed time - like I said, I'll be toying around this weekend. the suprising thing is that because it's drier/tighter - it seems to add punch...

I also activated the other 2 horns, so it's 6 horns - and used todd ao… I COULD have p...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass
cinebrass tone is going to be near impossible to beat. it's just such a gorgeous room. I love the darker warmer sound of teldex, but probably because I can't write a major piece to save my life. that said, this library doesn't really aim to compete with CB, or CSB. its essentially a far more managea...

Re: Audiobro Modern Scoring Brass
Horns sound pretty well programmed as well. I think the 3 attack types is gonna be a game changer. Berlin Brass has that as well, but it has nothing like this dynamic range and playability. honestly I figured I would mix and match like 3a btb, 2 + 2 bb/msb horns and 2+1 tpts. having the double tong...
