Commiserations Bill! I must say Glory Days completely passed by my radar, I would be interested in your thoughts of Swing More vs Glory Days.

Re: Infinite Brass-Opinions needed

Hi g.c., I'm not going to be much help to you, but just to say thanks for alerting me to this - I hadn't come across it. I had the briefest of listens to the demos and walkthroughs, and a quick look at the user manual, and a brief look at the VI-C thread. It definitely comes across to me like it has ...

Re: The new Mac Pro

Muchos gracias Guy. Yes I agree the new Mac Pro doesn't seem to make much sense as a VI & audio workstation - it seems to be primarily geared at the very high-end video / animation / VR studios and the like.

Re: The new Mac Pro

Ah, many thanks Guy! Hadn't thought of that option. So (slightly off-topic all sorry), this means I could have a very large (most Kontakt) template, which would ordinarily bring me over 64GB in Logic, but instead by loading the Kontakt instruments in VePro, I can enable and disable the instruments ...

Re: The new Mac Pro

Not too surprised that it's super expensive - given it's Apple, but also I guess they're trying to make their money on the base configuration before users add in 3rd party cards. The base configuration of the mac pro at €6000 without a display is weaker than the €5000 imac pro which includes that lov ...

Beautifully and creatively produced with lots of attention to detail and usage, congratulations.

PS Maybe you cannot say, but curious to what you might be planning for Vol.2...!

Congratulations Kuusniemi on a great achievement - this must have taken a huge amount of work to produce.

Re: CineSamples Percussion 40% off for one week

Tonal Ticky Tackies looks kinda interesting. Anyone used it to good effect? I'm guessing a person could perhaps generate similar results with a fair bit of patch and sequencer programming in Omnisphere? (but there is the question of spending the time to do all that) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v ...

Anyone got it?
I got it at Christmas in the Wish List. Yes it is a-few-variations-around-the-one-trick pony but I really like it. It's a good price I think.
Not really tempted by any of the others.

Re: Sonokinetic Woodwinds Ensemble - 24 hour sale at 80% off

Let us know how you get on Thomas. A great price, but mmm I really wonder would I use them..... being 4 ensembles only... and also wonder whether the room/space would fit with others... I have the ridiculously cheap VSL SE woodwinds and I really like them, plus Hollywoodwinds for runs. And Cinewinds ...

Re: Black Friday 2018

Sounds like a programming error to me, which doesn't surprise me too much given it's 8dio (ouch). I'm guessing the support message you'll get will probably just state that you need to spend $98 to get the free piano, but it may cause them to fix the glitch, seeing as I certainly haven't spent $98 ...

Re: Black Friday 2018

Correct, it's the older oboe. https://8dio.com/instrument/8dioboe-vst-au-aax-kontakt-instruments-samples/ I didn't really want the oboe, but I'm pretty happy to have gotten the piano for $8. Whether it's a random selection for the free gift or a programming glitch because they are currently offering ...

Re: Black Friday 2018

Not sure where to put this, but I paid a rare visit to VIC just now and noticed some people saying that they were getting a free gift of 8dio's 1928 piano if they purchased the 8dioOboe for $8 (I think this is today's offer but I'm not sure). Others reported buying the oboe and not getting the free ...

Re: BF/CM Ultimate Acquisitions

Thanks for the great help Joe_D, much appreciated. Darn I just missed the $39 IS deal (I might have gotten both given the low price) but I ended up plumbing for the OT anyway, and I'm pretty happy. Much as I love Metheny, I"m hoping the OT will give me maybe a bit more character as you say, maybe ...

Re: BF/CM Ultimate Acquisitions

Yeah Lawrence the tone - again just based on the demos and walkthroughs - the OTS seems have to have a great attack, and one of the presets is very John Scofield-y! (along the playing is great). The IS sounds good too and seems to have more sustain and might have a wider range of producable sounds ...
