Re: Orchestral Tools Black Friday Sale - 50% off Main Series
"What makes you think that?" There was this big announcement on vicontrol that something big is coming our way in december. Speculation is running wild. But if it is one if their biggest releases it might be something bigger then just one orchestral section. So this sale feels a bit oddly timed ...

Hm. Seems a new main library is coming in december. I don't like this type of sale.

Re: Kontakt 7.7 - now with ads
Any Product with adds and ingame purchases should be considered free to play.
(I don't mind paying for Kontakt of course.)
I was already miffed at the shop button on the UI.
But Ads are something else.

I don't know what it does, but it all sounded very samey to me. Like a cloud of semi random legato intervals.

Re: NI cut fees for Kontakt 7 indie developers
The problem is... to get it certified you have to make so much adjustments so it fits with the player. Non-trivial amounts of scripting. All the keylights, all the controlls. Pictues, audio demos for every patch etc. We are talking about days of unpaid labor here, so they can marked it. Is it worth ...

Re: Introducing... DOLCE: Romantic Chamber Strings | Available April 21st
Hmm.
Maybe this library could be amazing.
But, those snippets did not really tell me anything.
A bit... uninspiring sadly.
I hope PVS has enough on this to keep me going for now. I like the tone/mic variety of PVS more so far.
Lets see when they are both released.

Re: Orchestral Tools / Pēteris Vasks Chamber Strings
It's a bit weird that the solo bass has no tremolo articulation right?
Consistency out of the window again.
But the rest sounds great.

These mic positions sound super inspiring! For shure getting this. A real nice space. The whole thing impressively sounds like a real recording rather then a library.

... I think is is nice? Very specific, but it scratches that Witcher/RPG itch. Probably not that usefull for film. But seems great for games. I'll get it if I need it. Honestly just nice to see that they can still make new libraries. Kontakt would be more usefull. I finally have a good, stable ...

Re: Are You Waiting for something Interesting to show up in Dec. ?
I think that Nashville Strings Update might have evaporated.
Not really making a lot of music recently. So no rush. But I would love to try pacific strings eventually. Studio Series Percussion would also be kinda interesting.

Re: Audio Imperia & Performance Samples / Fluid Woods
I have no idea what to make of this library. I know what it does in theory. But for me, with these demos, the actual difference seems so miniscule, that 22GB installed size is just to much. Pretty happy with CSW. Would be more usefull to have some basic longs to switch to with the modwheel.

Re: Spitfire / Appassionata ("Impulse Legato" Strings)
Yes. I might be turned as well, as I found out on Modernity Sucks that the legato of these strings seems to have 4 round robins, which is in itself a rare feature and I do not have any library that is able to do slow to medium repetitive figures well. I think I will buy it in spite of the horrible ...

Re: SampleTekk 80% off entire range
I had a lot of his libraires. But somehow I left them behind. No longer installed even. So I do not remember them enough. I think a new unified, good looking script could boost them again. But as they were, they did feel a bit dated. I am shure they could be modernized however, because they were ...

It's just maddening isn't it. The samples are all nicely recorded. But somehow the programming talent does not want to work with the UK.

I have to add some stuff. (I know, i try and don't write much of a public critic anymore, because I try to be less loud, but to hell with it. Thats just not who I am. I have opinions. :) ) Yes, the tone is great. I like that. But that is often the case with spitfire libraries. They do great work ...

Re: Sonokinetic Orchestral Strings (with A/B divisi)
For a strings library with legato and divisi, the price seems ridiculously cheap. So I am asking myself whats wrong with these strings? It has all the articulations + extras. I am confused. Because of the looming performance samples strings and tokio strings?

Re-rendered demos, now with molto vib, I guess I was just confused which demo was supposed to showcase which. I though Ikigai already used molto vib, but it did not, those have much more the texture I was hoping for: https://soundcloud.com/isworks/kouyou-by-andrew-aversa https://soundcloud.com ...

yeah, but even Ikigai just sounds icy. No real vibrato. Just compare it to this track. Much more flowing, also the vibrato is much more apparent. Not that synthy. I do have preordered Tokio Strings, but sadly... the demos are just underwhelming at the moment. Do you feel the lack of a nicely ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLO08D8oSnA&t=115s New Legato. All in all, I think it is better. But it does sound very stiff (Violins are like: döööööööö). Maybe the fault of the very unmusical demo phrases chosen in this video though. They are just weird. Why not play something live? 100% more musi ...

Re: Sonora Cinematic - Poiesis Cello for Kontakt Player
It looks like a very nice library. The critic in me is just a little put off by the decission to split each recorded velocity layer into single articulations. That seems weird and only serves to blow up the marketed articulations.

Re: Incoming / ISW Tokyo Scoring Strings
Still, sounds stiff. I think it could have been recorded more spaced out. The vib sounds more like a distortion pad like vibrato. Something is not right. I just does not sound fluid, like these thype of strings would.
