Re: Spitfire Albion NEO
Here's a new video from Homay covering the Brunel Loops in Neo. I. for one, find them most appealing and versatile, and perhaps they are worth considering as well when assessing the library? https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=ZzZ8I-6LzzI&feature=emb_logo With all these pre-made sounds ...

Re: Spitfire Audio Kepler Orchestra
From the demos and walkthrough, this seems like the point where the marketing outshines the product. Not sold. Great idea but I can’t imagine that this isn’t a glorified phrase library.

Re: 8dio Adagio Violins Redux - $48
Thanks, Piet! (And some fantastic harmonies not often heard in sampleland...)
Love the chamber sound.
I'm going to throw down the $8.
EDIT- At 1:01 of the chamber example how are you getting that repeated note, the lowest note in the arpeggios? Or are my ears playing tricks?

Re: 8dio Adagio Violins Redux - $48
I've been meaning to think about possibly looking to Century maybe. I'm not sure why I haven't. I guess I was put off by feeling like Adagio/Agitato users were a sort of beta testers for CS and then received nothing in the way of a discount.

Re: 8dio Adagio Violins Redux - $48
If anyone wants to hear the sound of the Chamber section or the Sordinos, let me know. _ I wouldn't mind hearing the same example (or close to it) with those. I have all of Adagio/Agitato but remember being confused/underwhelmed by Anthology and tossing it aside within a day. But maybe the Arc ...

I'm not sure if I've listened to all the walkthroughs...sort of skimmed...but the shorts and avant shorts sound like something I haven't heard in sampleland, right? How much for just those?

Re: 8Dio Intimate Studio Strings Released
Thank you, Stakk. Your review covered pretty much everything I wanted to know.
This will never happen (from 8dio) but what would be useful would just be a collection of dynamic patches covering most dynamics, nv/vib variations, lengths and bowings for solo strings.

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings
To me Scandi-strings is just a sound, like fuzz guitar, old west saloon piano or Paul Desmond. I'm just tired of hearing it as a droning and endless minor chord.

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings
I have no problem with the sound of the 'Scandi-style' at all really. Sounds great. But it's a lot like many other 'popular' styles (post rock, doom metal, this new strain of left field techno played via modular systems) in that it seems full of possibilities but usually leaves me cold musically ...

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgK79MPOijY I give up. The sales pitch isn't just cringeworthy (Santana, really?...and if he says 'Scandi' one more time I'm reaching for a drink...) but actually a hindrance. I can't even really figure out what this library IS or sounds like completely. What I CAN ...

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings
Ok thanks. Hmm...just off the top of your head can you think of any situations when SStS would be vastly preferable to Sable/SCS? It seems like leaning on the Close mics in the latter and adding reverb would be preferable to what I'm hearing here and in much of the walkthrough. Maybe I'm just so ...

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings
Here’s a quick comparison between, first, the Sable Cellos Spicc followed by the StudioStrings 6 Cellos Spicc, the latter displaying, to my ears anyway, a degree of ugliness I never thought I’d ever encounter in a Spitfire library. (Both use the same midi data.) _ Piet, which mic positions are we he ...

Re: SPAT 2 announced
Good to know. I'll get one soon. Regarding no. 1, are you suggesting that the two pairs face the same way, both be on the back or front? I though it would make more sense to have one pair on the back and one on the front. I didn't think the C42s and 414 sounded bad (and I did more them around a bit ...

Re: SPAT 2 announced
No, be blunt!
Good point though. Too many factors making my head spin a bit. The J c42s are the only pair I have currently but of course they are cardioid. They do sound good when solo'ed but too narrow. I was planning on getting a second 414. Thanks, Hannes.
