Re: Orchestral Tools moves away from Kontakt!
i don't know if someone could activate every mic in berlin brass main with a 64 gig machine or not lol. I've got 25 instruments(without all the articulations) loaded and im in the 70gs.... Learning so much stuff at work(and setting up a new standing desk arrangement at home) while also reformating ...

Re: Spitfire eDNA update
Interesting to note, Guy. Of all places, I saw an advert for this on facebook and looked into it. Now having bought Time Macro, I've really sworn not to buy anything more until Alex finishes his Cinematic series, but listening to some of the demos - especially Homay's - I got really tempted. However ...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Time Macro
Man, I said to myself I wasn't gonna buy another more orchestral libraries until CSB and CSW are out... but I felt like I had to make an exception here. This seems like everything I wanted SF's evo series and swarms to be. But more than that, it feels like Time Macro genuinely brings something to ...

Re: Spitfire introduces their Studio Series with Spitfire Studio Strings
If anybody is interested in the sound of competitors Studio Strings, here is a phrase rendered with various Studio Strings libraries, each to the best of my abilities (meaning individually tailored midi data for every library). Light & Sound Chamber Strings, with reverb added but no other ...

Re: Adagietto Flash Sale - $48 until the 1st of July
Adagietto certainly isn't a bad library from what I've heard, even though it has a few (very publicly discussed) warts - if it weren't for the fact I already own CSS, SSS and Fluid Shorts I'd probably get it. I think it'd probably be a bit unwieldy as a main or only string library, but it's fairly ...

Re: Orch. Tools Berlin Symphonic Harps Library
Seems quite good. Will be very interesting to compare this against something such as Cineharps.

Re: Performance Samples / Con Moto Cellos
The demos sound good to my ears. A delay to keep a natural attack seems to be the way for me. It works well for Cinematic Studio Strings, and it works well here. Unfortunately the specialty library approach that has come up recently doesn't suit me. Having only one playing style from a library is ...

Re: Performance Samples / Con Moto Cellos
Rather than get into a flame war, I'm just going to put you on ignore, Aoi. The gun picture disturbs me just as much on this forum as the last. Happy hunting. Larry, please do not derail this topic with off-topic personal political rants, thanks. I don't believe that's in the spirit of this forum.

Re: Performance Samples / Con Moto Cellos
People I've seen around seem to be very critical of the library, which I suppose is a good thing, but are oddly focused around trying to get it to play short notes or fast runs. It seems quite obviously sold as an expressive, flowing legato and longs instrument?

Re: CinePiano released ($179)
Interesting to see CineSamples have come out with their piano after so many years now, usually it seems to be one of the endeavours developers do first. It doesn't sound too bad at all. As others have said, it seems more clearly designed to be a scoring piano. However, even for that the tone seems ...

Re: Spitfire retire BML Brass, introduce Symphonic Brass
Interesting take on it from Tim Davies, orchestrator superstar and host of the excellent Debreved orchestration blog: "It is like a 'wow, what it could have been' situation. The releases sound terrible and the tuning is quite dodgy! It does sound rich and have the sound of AIR, which is an amazing ...

Re: Spitfire retire BML Brass, introduce Symphonic Brass
SF have since updated the store page to say that legato for the solo bass and tenor trombones will come out in a free update. I agree with you guy, it does smell like Spitfire are trying to push this out as soon as possible to get ahead of the curve. It's indeed ironic they made a grand fanfare of ...

Re: Spitfire retire BML Brass, introduce Symphonic Brass
I guess this is also why those glitch fixes never happened. Very curious that legato was omitted from the new solo instruments, too.

Re: Galaxy D sale
Thanks for the heads up. Between this and the Sonivox I think I'll be sorted for pianos for a long time to come. The Sonivox seems to have been received quite well, and I hear overwhelming praise for the Galaxy D.
