Re: Cubase 12 announced (...or not)
So from the announcement on this thread - https://thesoundboard.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4934 - it looks like there will be quite a wait for Cubase 12. You will soon be introduced to Steinberg Licensing, with the release of Dorico 4 early next year. I can also tell you that Cubase 12 has been moved ...

Re: New version of Sonarworks Reference and rebrand
If you're working on headphones (phone or DAW), then they have a number of preset profiles to provide something that might be more flat/neutral sounding. Just load up the profile and you're good to go. For your main monitors, you need to calibrate your speakers/room first, then everything's also in ...

Re: New version of Sonarworks Reference and rebrand
Their new branding is confusing to be honest. What was called Sonarworks Reference has now been renamed SoundID (which is the regular computer software that runs in your DAW or as a system-wide audio driver). However, I believe they also have an app called SoundID (which is for your phone's ...

New version of Sonarworks Reference and rebrand
Didn't see this mentioned on here, so thought I'd share in case anyone missed it. Sonarworks has updated their Reference software. Along with a few new features, they've renamed the product SoundID. New features include: Customisable target curves "Translation check" which lets you simulate how your ...

Re: iZotope RX8 released
@Rdrane: Haven't used it in that way before but I have used it to clean up podcast audio getting rid of things like ground/mic hum and other extraneous noises. Thanks Mike. I use RX for the same reason - it's by far my favourite software for fixing audio issues. I might try the trial then and see ...

Re: iZotope RX8 released
The spectral recovery feature sounds particularly interesting - never seen a plugin for that before (is there anything else out there that compares?). It's the one thing tempting me to upgrade from RX5. I'm editing a podcast right now and a guest's microphone is missing most content above 10k, so ...
