Re: AUDDICT / Broken Heartstrings Piano

well, I think I found a working combination, namely the "Grandeur" and the "Heartstrings"... I did a patch of the latter that compresses all the velocity layers into the 1-70 range, more or less, extending the upper one to 127. Then had to manually tune the Grandeur to make it go with the other as ...

Re: AUDDICT / Broken Heartstrings Piano

I wonder if it would make any sense to build a piano with this one from ppp to mf and a different one, possibly with a similar timbre, from mf up. I mean using all of the velocities of this piano, and the available velocities of the second...

Re: AUDDICT / Broken Heartstrings Piano

yes I wouldn't call it a sharp 9 as it would need the seventh to be a true one. The right hand plays, from low to high, F-F#-A(not always)-D. It's more a D chord with the minor third giving some bluesy dirt in my opinion...

Re: Auddict master solo woodwinds 84% off

I'm not crazy too... had to manouvre quite a bit to make it phrase in an acceptable way. Like using the staccato patch, which isn't really staccato but has a clean attack, to start every initial notes of a phrase otherwise the attacks would be blurry. The timbre itself is not bad though: Bach ...

Re: Auddict master solo woodwinds 84% off

Sounds nice. Rob, is there a reason you would you use these instead of your usual VSL winds? Hi Larry, only reason would be the multiple mic positions, in this case the stage mics are putting the instrument at the right distance while one of the close mics is adding detail. But also them being more ...

Re: Auddict master solo woodwinds 84% off

I have just purchased this and at this price tag they're a good buy. Be prepared to open the wrench in Kontakt and adjust the releases and other parameters, but then you have some good soloists for your orchestra... excellent fast legato and staccatissimo.

Re: Rhodes release a V8 sample based plugin

what I don't hear in the examples is both the sweet, bell-like tone of pianissimo playing and the bark when keys are being hit hard. Dynamics, in a word.

Re: Embertone / Honky Tonk Harmonica (Whiskey Series)

People, it's Toots Thielemans . Not Thielman. We Belgians may not have a lot to offer to the world's music stage, but what we have, we like to see spelled correctly. Did the graphic design for the Toots 100 commemorative 4LP box-set last year, which includes my favourite photo of Toots, together ...

Re: Musical Sampling / Gabrielle Flute

I agree, Rob. So, no, you're certainly not imagining things. For certain things (in this particular example), your edited patch sounds better, at other moments, the original delivers a more fitting performance. Keep, use and combine both, it seems to me, it's a convincing combination. __ true, it ...

I'm not completely imagining things though... so, even if this thread has become my solitary therapy corner, here is a direct comparison between the unaltered patch and my customized one. Trills are better in the original, but for the rest I like the customized better...

Re: Musical Sampling / Gabrielle Flute

so here is the patch, based on the "workhorse tuned". The vibrato arriving sooner makes it more in line with what I'd have played on the real instrument... the orchestral arrangement is rather clumsy, found it on the net, had to correct some of the notes and added some horns to beef it up a bit. The ...
