Re: Hollywood Strings 2
I just got the library. Because I was curious and $199 crossgrade from HOOPUS is not that bad. I have a lot of strings library and this is the first one that can actually sound better than its demos/videos. 3 close mic positions are not great, I will use only mid, main and surround. Patches are too ...

Re: Hollywood Strings 2
It sounds ok to me but I think he is using an unnatural reverb to mask the raw sound. If the purpose of library is being intimate, you should demonstrate it as such.

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced
I actually like what East West did. Rather than start all over again with a load of HOOPLA, they went HOOPUS. 95% same good samples, 5% shiny and new samples all in a better player and simplified instrument structures. They could have still done more with scripting and unified patches - maybe there ...

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced
One more observation just to be ready for it - Spitfire have a long and rich history of making modular libraries that vanish when all the modules are finished, and it all gets wrapped in a single unified product. BML is the most obvious, but Sable was sold as something people might want to just own ...

It takes me to Paul's video showing the legato. Ha! “Arthur Dent: What happens if I press this button? Ford Prefect: I wouldn't- Arthur Dent: Oh. Ford Prefect: What happened? Arthur Dent: A sign lit up, saying 'Please do not press this button again.” https://youtu.be/kproPsch7i0?feature=shared

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion
You're quite right. Imagine someone doing "sampling" like this to an instrument like a riq or a bodhran or even a djembe. People would see the problem there because they know there is a performance practice and just hitting the drum at various velocities doesn't cover what the players actually do ...

My post was directed to general response. It wasn't a personal attack. I think FriFlo understood me well. Anyway I know this is a nice forum. My only intention was commenting on the product.

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion
This is why I deleted my first post in this thread. I got a bit angry and forgot that you can't write negative things about products in forums. You must be silent if you don't like something. I'm not capable of understanding what he was doing with this library, right? Explaining what an ethnic ...

Re: Orchestral Tools: Tom Holkenborg's Percussion
To explain myself nicely, I'll give you an example. Here is how my custom davul (tupan) library sound: etc. You certainly have a valid point - but there's a good chance Holkenborg wasn't going for a traditional tupan sound - but instead wanted one aspect of the tupan (the main strike) to integrate ...

To explain myself nicely, I'll give you an example. Here is how my custom davul (tupan) library sound: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c85vbfkpb25l7uq/davul.wav?dl=0 It has 6 articulations there each one mapped to two white neighbour keys with multi velocity layers and round robins. You hit it with a ...

Re: Modern Scoring Strings (aka LASS 3)
Lots of powerful features and rather impressive sounds here, except … the cellos, which often appear to belong to a completely different and far worse-sounding library than the rest of the strings. Been watching these videos with a near constant feeling of “One day, I’m sure going to buy this” but e ...

Here's a small audio snippet.. This is D4 note on Long CS....first one is Albion Loegria (which is now discontinued). Released in 2012 I suppose.... and the second one is very recent 2018 release; Albion One ! Since everybody is talking about how Spitfire is such a great company with great sounding ...

Re: Heavyocity Forzo Modern Brass
VSTBuzz/AudioPluginDeals is a garage sale for libraries that failed commercially... at least that's my impression... you will never see flagship libraries on there! Of course that doesn't mean the samples are bad, I still have picked up a few things from there from smaller developers. But I doubt ...

Re: Cinesamples CineStrings update v1.3, plus new product - CineHarps
I missed this for some reason. What do you all think? I'm not too sure from that video. It's certainly smoother at pretty fast speeds, but it doesn't sound like real playing I don't think. Those fast figures just sound synthy. I could always go moderately fast well with CS, but certainly nowhere ...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Berlin Orchestra 'Inspire'
Nice, Yasin! I noticed a lot of your piece was tutti-was it just the nature of the piece or do you see that as Inspire's strength? You mean "Full Orchestra Sustain and Staccato" patches from BOI? No, I didn't use them. Strenght of BOI is it has aggressive, upfront and small sound. It's like little ...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Berlin Orchestra 'Inspire'
If you say, I want an affordable and realistic orchestral package for basics and don't need a lot of individual sections and articulations. I would recommend this one over Projectsam OE, Cinesymphony lite, The Orchestra, UVI Orchestral Suite etc.

Re: Orchestral Tools / Berlin Orchestra 'Inspire'
Have to be sure though it won't overlap too much with Albion One - just a hobbyist here. I have it. If you need a technical comparison between them, here are my thoughts: 1. Inspire has bigger pitch and dynamic ranges for legatos. Sound is drier and more aggressive. In Albion One modwheel between ...
