Re: Soundpaint 2.0 new legato engine, tenor sax and alto flute
The Tenor Sax legato patches are really very good. For the music I produce, soul, pop and R&B it's very expressive and can sound 'real' without too much MIDI editing. It has replaced Embertone's Sensual Sax on a few songs I'm working on. For once with a 8dio library I can almost emulate what Troels ...

Re: Spitfire Audio / ARO Thematic Horns
From Spitfire: 'The Selections are designed for a specific purpose. Thematic Horns is 3 dynamics, from mf and up. This was decided based upon speaking to the players, as well as practical use for a "Thematic" selection. Those wanting something more comprehensive in terms of dynamic range will ...

Re: UAD Spark - no hardware, but…
So glad I sold my UAD plug-ins and got out of their hardware infrastructure years ago. Firmly in the Acustica camp now and their far more realistic plug-ins (in terms of mix space, depth and saturation). And with a powerful Mac/PC they are much more usable these days. Depends what type of music you ...

Re: 8dio Soundpaint platform launched
Never been a great fan of 8Dio, but Soundpaint is interesting. Having downloaded the freebie Piano and Free Angels instruments and then purchased the Jupiter-8 (small version) and 808 instruments I have to say I am quite impressed. The Jupiter sounds quite lovely to my ears. More authentic than ...

Re: EastWest / Hollywood Orchestra OPUS Edition
Yes. Is it possible to download the Opus engine without buying a new instrument/bundle? I looked around the website a bit and couldn't find any download links. I don't think so. Duh, I remembered the EW Installation Center software and it's in there. Downloading now, we shall see what happens. I ...

Re: Spitfire @ Abbey Road !/?
I dunno. I get the feeling that this Foundations library may be a cut above any other 'all in one' orchestral library introduced by any developer to date. It does sound that good imo. No one has yet mentioned that it would appear Spitfire is using new 'recording techniques' for the Abbey Road series ...

Re: Here we go Spectrasonics.
I've had Keyscape for just under the week now. I find it inspirational to play. It is the playability IMO that makes it stand out from the many other sampled acoustic and electric piano's out there (and I have tried a quite lot of them). The attention to detail in the sampling is quite phenomenal ...

Re: Keith Emerson passed away
Absolutely gutted. One of my heroes. Listened to 'Pirates' again this morning after hearing the sad news. This track epitomises everything you need to know about Keith Emerson.
