Re: Orchestral Tools / Benjamin Wallfish Strings
To be honest, not hearing anything in here that I can't do as well or better with libraries I've had for a while. The non-looped and up/down bow sustains & legato don't seem to add much to me...more of a solution in search of a problem than anything that really pushes the bar. Transitions themselves ...

Re: Abbey Road Orchestra - Violins 1 announced
Personally, I don’t hear anything in the legatos that I can’t do as well or better already (including with previous SF libs). Maybe it’s me. Room and shorts sound very good.

(...) preferred pre-attack settings (...) That will vary from piece to piece, Artinro. If the music demands utmost precision and/or tight ensemble work, I don't think I'll be using much PreAttack, but in anything a little more loose and casual or 'after hours', I can see myself raising that ...

Re: Production Voices 300 Grand (Full Version)
Really appreciate this incredibly detailed analysis, Piet. Think I’m going to take the plunge here. There are so few piano libraries that are sampled really well in a concert hall that it would seem silly to pass this one up given the amount of praise. Extremely reasonable price too. Would be i ...

Re: Production Voices 300 Grand (Full Version)
Thanks for the detailed thoughts, Jason. Interesting re: the most delicate and soft layers. Are you saying you can’t find a way to play them with tweaked velocity curves, or that the samples aren’t there at all? If you tweak the velocity to say “1,” are you still hearing a “piano” dynamic and not “pi ...

Production Voices 300 Grand (Full Version)
The "lite" version of this Yamaha CFX has been out for a while but looks like the full version has just been released. Anyone give this one a go yet? Thoughts? From the website: "300 Grand is Production Voices’ latest and most ambitious piano sample library to date. Experience a modern 9 foot p ...

Update for the library just released: "PF2 Piano F 1.1.3 [Fix] Dynamic Response was having some issues, especially in the quieter range [Fix] Balanced low-bass frequencies [New] a custom script for fine-tuning the volume depending on velocity for each key. The new settings give even more flexibility ...

Re: Cubase 12 released [DEMO and 12.0.30 NOW AVAILABLE]
It seems others have messaged Greg about the local undo feature. He mentioned it in yesterday's club cubase livestream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_NQJcoUXGs&t=8751s I encourage anyone who loves this feature to send a message to Steinberg about it to bolster anything Greg may mention to them ...

Re: Xperimenta / Piano F
Piet, thank you so much for your posts (both thoughts and the audio/video examples). So thorough and extremely helpful. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate the time you took. I think this is worth picking up, especially for the intro price. I think I’ll do so today. Seems like the dev has made good ...

Re: Xperimenta / Piano F
This one sounds quite good to me. Did you purchase it Piet? Thoughts on it, if so? Does anyone know what kind of space this was recorded in? I've yet to hear an example of the separate mics where the reverb is off. Interesting....I didn't realize Fazioli even made a 284cm piano.

Re: Cubase 12 released
Can't believe they STILL haven't brought back localized undo. Never made sense why they just nixed this feature after v10. Very, very disappointing. This one feature is why I still haven't upgraded (aside from not feeling the need). I actually thought it was removed before v10, maybe in 9 or 9.5 ...
